Robert Cooperman hosts “For the Rest of Us,” which airs on 95.9 FM Saturdays at 11 AM in Columbus, OH. He is the founder and president of Stage Right Theatrics, the country’s only conservative theatre company. A playwright and theatre producer, Robert’s goal is to increase participation in the arts by conservative and traditionally-minded people and to educate audiences on American theatre history and its connection to promoting Western values, which he fears are eroding rapidly in all aspects of our culture. “For the Rest of Us” is, as it suggests, a show that looks at the erosion of Western (and specifically American) values in our contemporary arts scene and—more importantly—what we can do about it! Ep 12 Is Art Good for What Ails You?

Saturday, June 20, 2026

Robert discusses a fascinating article that poses the question, "Does engagement with the arts slow aging?" While a stimulating discussion, for Robert, it's the wrong question. Instead we should be looking at how art enriches the soul.

Ep 11 How to Identify Leftwing Art

Saturday, June 13, 2026

Robert reviews the characteristics of contemporary leftwing art such as the dehumanizing of an individual into a group identity, the marginalization of anyone who does not adhere to the set of characteristics associated with that identity, and a rejection of the good, the beautiful, and the true.

Ep 10 "Not Your Grandfather's '1776'"

Saturday, June 6, 2026

Robert, himself in a production of the classic musical "1776," looks back a couple of years to a strange Broadway revival of the musical featuring an all female cast. Why would anyone do this? Because a statement had to be made that disavowed the wonder and grandeur of the Declaration of Independence in favor of the misery of contemporary malcontents!

Ep 09 "Luigi, the Musical!"

Saturday, May 30, 2026

Robert looks at the new musical about murderer Luigi Magione and how it is slated for a New Yor run after a successful set of shows in San Francisco. TO Robert, this is further proof of the degradation of our culture.

Ep 07 " Are Crosses Art or Graphics"?

Saturday, May 16, 2026

Robert explores the recent rejection by the Columbus Downtown Commission of the Center for Christian Virtue's plan to erect three crosses on its rooftop. Can a symbol of faith be merely a graphic to be regulated by a government entity? Is this a free speech issue?

Eo 06 "An Interracial 'Raisin in the Sun'"?

Saturday, May 9, 2026

Robert looks at the possibility of producing the classic American lay, "A Raisin in the Sun," with a non-traditional, interracial cast. Would that be welcome in an artistic world where colorblind casting is embraced wholeheartedly, mostly?

Ep 05 "An Interracial 'Streetcar"

Saturday, May 2, 2026

Ep 05 - Robert looks at a recent production of "A Streetcar Named Desire," which featured an interracial cast. What was the director's motives and did it serve the audience's needs?

Ep 04 "What is the Natural Theatre"

Saturday, April 25, 2026

Robert explains how his concept of "The Natural Theatre" is guided by American founding values and a celebration of Western ideals.

Ep 03 "Against Misery"

Saturday, April 18, 2026

Robert reviews an article by Charels C.W. Cooke in the recent National Review. While the article discusses the reasons Americans should be proud and appreciative of our country despite the depressing rhetoric of politicians and talking heads, Robert shows how the arts contribute to this negativity and how we can fight against that.

Ep 02 "Mr. First Nighter"

Saturday, April 11, 2026

Ep 02 - Robert tells all about his experience at a local theatre presentation where audiences got a typically misguided and patently false view of our immigration policies, all disguised as art.

Ep 01 "Welcome to "For the Rest of Us!"

Wednesday, April 8, 2026

Ep 01-Meet host Robert Cooperman, learn his background in the arts, and why it is so vital that "the rest of us" (that is, conservative and traditionally minded people) participate in the arts.
