It wasn’t just the skill, though their performance was undeniably world-class. It was the story. The strength and the way they turned life’s hardest battles into something beautiful reminded everyone watching that there is light even in the darkest seasons.

Because sometimes, life throws punches. But when you’ve got faith, family, and a fire inside you that refuses to be put out—you dance anyway.

Some voices don’t just sing; they stir something deep, something sacred. And when this young woman’s chilling rendition of  ‘To Love Somebody’ by the Bee Gees, it was one of those moments where time stood still.

Maybe it was the way Emma closed her eyes before the first note, the way she carried the weight of the song in her voice, how every lyric seemed to come from a place of knowing. Eyes welled. Jaws dropped. The room leaned in, spellbound. And when the last note faded into the hush, there was that sacred pause—the kind where the air is thick with something unspoken, where heaven brushes earth just for a moment. Emma turned a simple audition into something unforgettable.

And that’s exactly what happened when Simon Evans, a young man’s incredible cover of A-Ha’s ‘Take On Me’ as he stood in the midst of a bustling street, black beanie snug over his head, red jacket catching the light, and started singing.

He wasn’t on a stage. He wasn’t backed by a full band. He was just there, rooted in the middle of the movement—people walking by, wrapped up in their own worlds—until his voice cut through the noise like a songbird piercing through winter’s last storm.

At first, it was just another moment on a busy street. Then he opened his mouth.

“Talking away… I don’t know what I’m to say… I’ll say it anyway…”

Heads turned. Feet slowed. Conversations quieted.

It was the kind of performance that sneaks up on you—the kind you don’t expect, but once you hear it, you can’t un-hear it. The richness of his tone, the effortless way he soared through the song’s impossible high notes, the quiet confidence in every lyric—it all worked together to make something holy out of the ordinary.

Humans have a knack for taking things and making a complete and utter mess of them. It doesn’t matter what it is either; we are capable of screwing up anything and everything with ease. Don’t believe me? Look at the current state of the world. That is our doing.

People mess up regularly. Perfection is not attainable for human beings. Thankfully, God loves us despite our failures and flaws. He freely offers forgiveness and eternal salvation to those who earnestly seek Him out and call upon His name.

As Megan sings in the YouTube video for her beautiful song, God understands that humans are not perfect. He’s not after our successes; he simply wants our hearts. The lyrics to the tune are powerful, telling of God's loving nature.

“That’s who You Are
You’re the God who fashioned every heart
You know the end, the middle and the start, all my mistakes
You’re never running out of grace”

In addition to the lovely lyrics about God’s unending mercy, grace and love, Megan also strums the harp, showcasing even more of her immense musical abilities in the four-minute clip. This young woman is obviously incredibly talented, and she’s using those gifts to bring glory and honor to His name.

In the video’s description, Megan adds even more beautiful and truthful words about the mighty and loving God we serve.

“I love loving a God who cares more about who I’m becoming than the ‘successes’ that the world would celebrate,” she writes. “He doesn’t want my perfection, he wants my heart. Surrendering my life to him was the best decision I’ve ever made.”

Two esteemed judges of the 2024 season of The Voice UK, Tom Jones and LeAnn Rimes, mesmerize everyone with their stunning duet of The Everly Brothers’ 1960 hit single, ‘Let it Be Me.’ Fellow judges, will.i.am, Tom Fletcher, and Danny Jones (the latter two share a double chair) are in awe of their peers and teary audience members are moved. It is a short, but impactful performance by two incredible talents!

The video begins as LeAnn asks Sir Tom Jones what song he likes to perform at his “gigs.” He says that he likes to do a mixture of music but states that, in his opinion, “once a hit, always a hit.” She shares that she’s always wanted to sing with him, and though she seems a bit uncertain, they agree to sing ‘Let It Be Me.’ Her cautious response is certainly unwarranted because both deliver stunning performances—LeAnn hitting the high notes and Tom delivering what AllMusic described as a “full-throated, robust baritone.” 

While Tom (84) is twice the age of LeAnn (42), they sound perfectly paired and in sync. Of course, that is the nature of talent like theirs. They make musical magic. Before there was Taylor Swift, 13-year-old LeAnn Rimes became a star with her single ‘Blue.’ According to LeAnn, she first recorded the ‘lonesome ballad,’ which featured a fair amount of yodeling, when she was 11, and that’s the version that was inadvertently released to the world. 

Welsh singer Tom Jones has been performing for over 60 years! Brian Kachejian of ClassicRockHistory.com wrote, “The man knows how to entertain, light up the stage, and give you one heck of a show. The guy could sing his heart out and made women pass out more than any other musical act, including Elvis Presley and The Beatles.”
