A Grammy-nominated artist performs a beautiful song about holding onto and trusting God throughout life’s many trials and storms.
Faith and trust are two things required in abundance in the Christian’s walk. The journey will not always be easy, and the destination will be murky, at times. On the road of life will come potholes, detours and other obstacles that will make things interesting, to say the least. It’s at these times a Christian’s faith and trust in God will be tested and stretched.
In her song “Still God,” Anne Wilson mentions that despite these trying and difficult circumstances, her faith remains in Him, even when there is much uncertainty. The song’s opening verses eloquently describe a place many people find themselves in at different times.
Anne points out that she has just gone through a situation that has left her heart hurting and broken. She has many questions, and the pain is still great. However, she remains committed to God, and Anne has made a decision to believe in the faithfulness of Him.
The song’s chorus perfectly encapsulates the power and faithfulness of God. Even when we are unable to see it, He is still working.
“You’re still God
You’re still good
You’re still making a way”
In the following verse, Anne sings that while she may be enduring a dark period, a valley in life, she has that peace that surpasses all understanding. She is holding onto God’s promise that He will never leave or forsake us, as is mentioned throughout God’s Word.
Anne’s song is a terrific reminder that even while struggling and battling through challenging situations, God is still at work. He is still in control and is still faithful. He understands what is going on and has a plan, better than anything we could ever imagine.
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the sign that the things not seen are true.”
A group of talented musicians sang a track about the awe-inspiring power of the blood of Jesus Christ.
Christ willingly gave Himself as a sacrifice, as our replacement, to endure a painful and undeserving execution on the cross. His death, the blood He shed for all humanity and His resurrection, changed the entire direction of the world forever. His ultimate sacrifice all those years ago is still changing lives today.
In the song, “Plead the Blood", Chris Davenport, Brandon Lake and Cody Carnes sing about the power of Christ’s shed blood.
In the song’s first verse, the musicians mention that Christ’s blood provides protection. Instead of being subjected to the enemy’s hideous and destructive plans, the thief will spot Christ’s blood on the doorframe and flee, according to the song.
Additionally, the musicians add that the enemy will not be able to “take my family.” The people who reside in the house with Christ’s blood on the door love, worship and belong to the Lord. In the song’s chorus, the guys point out that Christ’s blood is sufficient, meeting all their life’s needs.
“I plead the blood
I plead the blood of Jesus
It’s more than enough”
Near the song's conclusion, the musicians point out the power of Christ’s blood to change lives, even to this day. It washes away all sins and makes the broken whole once again. The song adds that there is peace, hope and a future after the blood washes away the sin.
Praise the Lord for the life-changing and saving blood of Jesus Christ!
Exodus 12:23 “For the Lord will go through the land, sending death on the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the two sides and the top of the door, the Lord will go over your door and will not let death come in for your destruction.”
A group of gifted musicians performed a song about the grace, love and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Without Christ's love, mercy and grace, no one would have a chance at everlasting life. Everyone would be condemned and lost, forced to live a life of sin and shame. Instead, One came, paid a debt with His life and rose again, forever changing the trajectory of the world.
In the track’s opening verse, the musicians mention Christ’s excruciating and undeserving execution upon the cross. His blood was shed for the entire world as His hands, feet and sides were pierced. A crown of thorns was placed on his head. He willingly took on the sins and shame of humanity.
Thankfully, Christ, whose body was placed in the tomb, rose once again. He won the victory over sin and death. The song’s chorus mentions how Christ’s death and resurrection paid our debt. He took our place.
“My chains are gone
My debt is paid
From death to life
And grace to grace”
Now, because of Christ’s resurrection and victory over death and sin, the cross is no longer associated with death, the musicians sing. Now, the cross, where His blood was shed, is a symbol of freedom and the life found in Jesus Christ.
Christ’s death and resurrection changed and are still changing lives today. His love, mercy and grace were so great that he was willing to go through all of that for everyone. Because of Him and His death, anyone and everyone can spend eternity with Him in Heaven.
2 Corinthians 12:9 “And he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weakness, that the power of Christ may rest on me.”

Listen to this performance by Anne Wilson of her song ‘My Jesus.’
“Are you past the point of weary? Is your burden weighin' heavy? Is it all too much to carry?
Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus. Do you feel that empty feeling? 'Cause shame's done
All its stealin', and you're desperate for some healin', let me tell you 'bout my Jesus
He makes a way where there ain't no way, rises up from an empty grave”
This incredible song was written after Anne Wilson experienced the great loss of her brother, Jacob, when he died from a horrific car accident.
"It was so tragic," Anne Wilson said. "He was my best friend. That's actually how I started singing and how I got into music, and that's why I wrote the song 'My Jesus.'"
The song also relates to many other people who have suffered a loss, and Anne Wilson shared about the stories that people have told her when it comes to how much the song means to them.
"I've had a lot of really incredible responses to that song," she said. "The ones that stand out are really stories of people saying they lost a loved one years ago, and that they turned away from the Lord and that they resented God. They were angry at Him, and when this song came out, they all of a sudden let go of their anger towards the Lord. I think there's something really hard about losing a loved one. When you lose a loved one, you have to learn how to trust God. This song, 'My Jesus,' is encouraging people to do that. It's just a really powerful thing for me."

Listen to this beautiful worship performance of Chris Tomlin’s song ‘Holy Forever.’
“A thousand generations falling down in worship to sing the song of ages to the Lamb
And all who've gone before us and all who will believe, will sing the song of ages
To the Lamb, Your name is the highest, Your name is the greatest, Your name stands
Above them all, all thrones and dominions, all powers and positions”
What an incredible song and wonderful worship performance! It moves you to worship the Lord and remember His faithfulness throughout the generations.
This powerful song from Chris Tomlin invites us to engage in something that is far bigger than us – eternal worship to our Heavenly Father.
"I just tried to capture a piece of Heaven in this song that never ends, this eternal song,” shares Chris Tomlin. “What's amazing is that there is an eternal song and we know the lyrics. It’s 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.' That's what the Bible says throughout, and in Revelation, it says, 'Day and night, they never stopped saying it.’”
The song ‘Holy Forever’ was released in September 2022 as part of Chris Tomlin’s album titled Always.
“The idea is that we think about ‘always’ as that of eternal, everlasting, infinite,” says Chris Tomlin as he shares about the meaning behind the album’s title. “That’s who God is. And reminding people that we serve a God who is faithful, even if we’re faithless. He is faithful to us. He’s an Always God.”
