A single 12-year-old collects 30,000 diapers for families in need. It is just incredible. A volunteer at Nourish Phoenix since she was just 7, 12-year-old Sloan Petty has a huge heart for families. Watch the video to see how she received donations of over 30,000 diapers for the Arizona charity.
Nourish Phoenix provides food, clothes, and, thanks to Sloane, diapers to families who really need them. Sloane was able to rally around her friends, family, and neighbors to get diapers for those in need.
It is just incredible that a middle schooler could do all of this. Sloan shows that she is every bit her name. The meaning of the name “Sloan” is “mobilizer.” She is a leader who motivates and mobilizes people for good causes, and it is so touching to see.
“If we have the ability to give people something that they may not have or need, it’s really important to do that,” Sloane says.
Young Girl's Compassion Inspires a Community to Give Back
In her first year of collecting diaper donations, Sloane received over 7,000 diapers, and it’s grown every year through sloansdiaperdrive.org.
Nourish Phoenix said, “Diapers are one of our most requested items, making Sloan’s passion project an invaluable resource for the families we serve. Thank you, Sloan!”
Sloan’s efforts just go to show that even kids can make a huge difference. Most children aren’t given the time, opportunities, and encouragement to bless others in this capacity, so it is great that Sloan can do this.
It’s great that Sloan has loving, supportive parents behind her who help make her dreams of helping people come true. They recognized that she loves helping others and helped her make this drive possible. It’s wonderful.
