Have you ever wondered if that strong "gut feeling" is your intuition speaking, or if it's actually the Holy Spirit?

This week on the Praying Christian Women podcast, Alana and Jaime tackle the complex and often confusing differences between human intuition and Holy Spirit discernment—and why confusing the two can actually be spiritually dangerous.

In this episode, Alana and Jaime dive into the all-too-common Christian habit of "over-spiritualizing" our personal choices. They unpack the danger of using the phrase "God told me" to justify our own desires, make excuses for being flaky, or shut down disagreements. They explain why making God the "fall guy" for our decisions or personality quirks can border on taking His name in vain, and why it's perfectly okay to just want things without slapping a divine stamp on them!

Jaime also shares the personal story of her family's move to Alaska, revealing how she used scripture to seek confirmation when she wasn't sure if the decision was driven by personal desire or a divine calling. Together, they explore the beautiful truth that intuition is a God-given gift designed to protect and guide us, and why honoring your gut instincts (like sensing an unsafe situation) doesn't have to conflict with your faith.

You’ll walk away with a fresh perspective on the incredible freedom we have in Christ, a comforting reminder of God's joyful and loving character, and practical wisdom on how to seek clarity when you aren't sure whose voice you're hearing.

NFL Star And Wife Share Heartbreaking And Moving Journey To Parenthood

NFL star and wife share heartbreaking and moving journey to parenthood in an interview on the Today show. The sweet couple, Ryan and Emma Kelly, lost a baby but then became blessed twofold over a year later. They’re happier now more than ever.

The couple became pregnant with their baby girl, Mary Kate, just a couple of months into their marriage. They were very excited and even announced the gender of their baby in the Colts’ stadium. But at 19 weeks, Emma felt like something was wrong. The baby wasn’t moving.

She immediately went to the doctor, who could not find a heartbeat. She had to deliver Mary Kate stillborn. Their grief was unimaginable. They never thought the first time they held their baby, that she would not be breathing.

However, they still had hope. Over a year later, they became pregnant–through IVF– with twin boys. They both had strong heartbeats, but they came 3 months early at 2 lbs each. Despite their tiny size, they were both strong and met their developmental milestones in the NICU.

From Sorrow to Happiness

The NFL star and his wife’s heartbreaking and moving journey is one of triumph after loss. After the boys got out of the NICU, their parents took them to visit their sister’s grave. She played a part in their being here, and they never want to forget her impact.

“It's difficult, but the most amazing difficult,” Emma said. “We dreamt of this. That's the other thing, too, we talk about perspective and everything it took to get here. We prayed for the hard.”

Emma spent months in tears and sorrow, and now she and her husband are so happy. They know their difficult journey was worth it. It’s wonderful that after the NFL star’s and his wife’s heartbreaking and moving journey, they can now rest happily knowing that their boys aren’t going anywhere.

Praying Through Psalm 18: Finding Asylum at the Horn of Salvation

Don't forget to grab your free scripture journal at PrayingChristianWomen.com/journal today!

What happens when our problems feel insurmountable and we desperately need a safe place to run?

In this episode of the Praying Christian Women podcast, Jaime dives into the powerful, action-packed first half of Psalm 18. This psalm is so rich with dramatic, awe-inspiring imagery of God's deliverance that it takes two full episodes to cover! As she reads through David’s praise for being rescued from Saul and his enemies, Jaime explores the intense, poetic descriptions of the Lord parting the heavens, sending hailstones, and riding on the wind to save His children.

Jaime unpacks two fascinating questions that arise from this passage. First, she wrestles with David’s bold claim of having "clean hands" and a blameless record—a surprising statement from a man with a well-documented history of deep sin. Is he foreshadowing the perfect righteousness of Jesus, referring to his specific restraint in sparing King Saul, or resting in the cleansing grace of true repentance? Then, she dives into the ancient meaning behind calling God the "horn of my salvation," tracing it back to the physical horns of the Old Testament altar where desperate fugitives would run for absolute safety and asylum.

Just like touching "home base" in a childhood game of tag, Jaime reminds us that we have a secure, unshakeable refuge in the Lord. When we picture God's fierce, earth-shaking power rushing to our defense, the complicated problems that pursue us suddenly pale in comparison to our Creator.

Whether you are feeling chased by an impossible situation, overwhelmed by anxiety, or simply need a reminder that the God of the universe is fighting for you, we hope this episode empowers you to lay hold of the altar, step into His fearless protection, and face your week with unshakeable boldness!
