I Need A Hero

What defines a "hero"? Many people have sports heroes, who really don't do much to enrich their lives. But what about a fireman who pulled you from a burning building? The truest heroes save people from death, and JESUS CHRIST is the truest HERO ever because he saves people from everlasting death. See what motivated Jesus to want to take the game winning shot.

… suffering leads to…

He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:3-5 (NIV)

2 John 1:7-13

7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 12 Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. 13 The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.

I Be, Therefore I Do

Who BE you? The answer to that grammatically-stricken question is key to this question: What Do you? In God's economy, BEING precedes DOING. But in religion, and too often in life, we are taught that we must DO something in order to BE someone. Bull. The biblical pattern is GRACE unto works. Check it out.
