Isaiah 9:2-7

Summary: As we light the final candle of the Advent Wreath, we take a moment to consider what the introduction of light does to the darkness. Jesus said that He is the Light of the World, and with the coming of Christ, everything is changed.

We can share and tell of who God is. Isaiah prophesied of his coming 100s of years before the birth of Christ Jesus. There is no other person in history that is written about as much as Jesus Christ.

Josephus: a historian. 1 century, same time as Jesus.

Exodus 16:1-36

And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. 2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: 3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

The Daily Pulse (Monday, December 21, 2015): In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. We are called to be the best man, not the groom. It is imperative that we allow Christ Jesus to shine as we fade into the background. An encouraging and inspiring message on the right place for Christians who seek to be the best man!
