The Fall: hide from God

The Daily Pulse (Monday, January 18, 2016): Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:8 (NIV)

"Made New By Our Loving Lord"

Pastor Gudgel reminds us that even though we may at times feel forsaken by God (when things look their bleakest), we can be assured that God will not desert us as we share his Word with those around us.

Summary: In the struggle to find unity in the Body of Christ, the most important element is a common, shared vision. So much of the division in churches comes from people trying to bring their own vision rather than surrendering to God's vision for the church.

Exodus 19:1-25

In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. 2 For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount. 3 And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; 4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. 5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

The Fall: trust your own judgment

The Daily Pulse (Friday, January 15, 2016): When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. Genesis 3:6a (NIV)

The Fall: the temptation

The Daily Pulse (Thursday, January 14, 2016): “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4-5 (NIV)

'You've Got Mail!'

"What does the Bible say?" That's always a good question to ask, but by itself, it is not enough. Why not? Because the Word of God addresses THREE different groups of people (Jews, non-Jews, and Christians) and does so in a past, present, and future way. If one does not know what parts of the Bible are written to and about which group of people, and when, this Book of all books will never make sense or be practically applicable. Worst of all, the critical truth that salvation is permanent for each Christian can be skewed by "reading other people's mail."

JUST TRUTH IT is dedicated to helping you understand the Word of God by providing accurate, sensible, inspiring, and entertaining biblical teaching so as to make known the Lord Jesus Christ, the Living Truth, and thus facilitate a worldwide community of mature Christians committed to following him by living the truth of God's Word and sharing it with others.

The Fall: reviewing the rules

The Daily Pulse (Wednesday, January 13, 2016): The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” Genesis 3:2-3 (NIV)

You Need Not Be "all Wet".flv

When you hear the word "baptism," do you think of water? If so, you might unknowingly be arguing for a lesser possibility than what God says is available. The verb "baptize" actually means to dip or to immerse, and the Bible says there is another element beside water into which each Christian is dunked at the moment he is born again. Get hip, don't be a drip.

The Fall: question God

The Daily Pulse (Tuesday, January 12, 2016): Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” Genesis 3:1 (NIV)

Words Have MEANINGS, Part 2 of 2

Words have definitive meanings that cannot be randomly changed without ruining communication among people, or between God and people. This segment looks at the biblical distinction between "heaven" and "Paradise," which few Christians through the centuries have noticed. It's all about "location, location, location."

A new covenant

The Daily Pulse (Sunday, January 10, 2016): For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. Hebrews 9:15 (NIV)
