Hello and welcome to Salem UMC!!! It's an honor to have you with us during the Easter season.... We hope you enjoy the sermon for the week of March 29th, 2015.
STRESS---- It is a killer not only of the body but of the mind and the spiritual life. The Bible tells how to handle it in a manner that helps us and preserves the unity of the Spirit. It is a matter of recognizing what God has already told us about it.
This week we continue our ongoing walk through the Book of Romans. We continued with chapter 14, verses 14-20. We looked at the need for believers to invest the time, effort and energy in exploring personal issues and developing convictions. Personal convictions are what we are to live by and not corporate edicts or generalized, arbitrary rules. Differences of opinion should not be cause for disruption or disunity as we ought to focus on that which we hold in common, not on the areas where we disagree. (Sess 48 - CH 14:14-20) HD
Pastor Peter DeMik, Restoring Relationships with Love, based on Numbers 21:4-9 & John 3:14-21. Sunday Worship Schedule,8:15 (T), 9:30(C), 11:00(T) Our Savior Lutheran Church, 13611 Laurel-Bowie Rd., Laurel, MD 20708
It takes a lot to be considered a person after God's own heart. Among other qualities that David had to be considered such, you have to be rejected, tempted and attacked. And only God can determine whether or not you qualify, as Pastor Jeff continues this teaching on "A Person After God's Own Heart."
The words to the song, "Hallelujah Anyhow... never let your problems bring you down. When those troubles come your way, life your head up high and say, Hallelujah Anyhow" SHARED like you never heard it before. Laughter does good like medicine. A tidbit (message before the message) from the sermons of the On Good Ground Christian Fellowship. (Before the sermon, A Person After God's Own Heart, Part 2).
In today's Gospel lesson, Pastor Gudgel reminds us that it is important to be the servant of all in order to find true peace in our lives. Remember to reach out and share with others the joy of Christ.
Pastor Dr. Darren Goodman will be speaking on, "Constructing A Life Worth Living". Do you have a Blue Print for your future? Are you satisfied with your Daily Life? If you could, what would you change?
Contrary to popular belief the Bible does not offer all the answers to all the questions in our world... It points us to the singular answer, JESUS! He is the focus and subject of the Book, not the Book itself. Spiritual arrogance is born of the belief that one has all the answers. There is nothing wrong with being able to say, "I don't know." In fact, humility demands that we acknowledge this fact and truth.
