Soul-Stirring 'Leaning on The Everlasting Arms' Duet

Two talented musicians turned in a soul-stirring duet of the classic and beloved hymn “Leaning on The Everlasting Arms.”

There are plenty of fun, joyous and happy occasions in life that are worth celebrating and recognizing. However, as everyone knows, life is not always an enjoyable experience. Sadly, it can often be the exact opposite. Many situations and circumstances will leave you battered, bruised and severely diminished, with the scars to prove it.

Everyone has likely gone through a deep, dark valley in life, a time full of grief, sorrow and pain. There may have been instances where you felt like you had reached your limit and that going on was asking too much. It’s in these times when deep pain and sorrow set in that we must remember to lean upon the One who willingly gave His life for you and me. We can lean on the everlasting arms.

In a clip posted on YouTube, two individuals give a most enjoyable duet performance of that old hymn that reminds us that we have the Creator and Savior of the world in our corner. Likely, “Leaning on The Everlasting Arms” is a song you know very well. But the hymn’s beautifully written lyrics are still as accurate today as when they were first penned.

The song’s chorus is certainly memorable and iconic, one that most people likely know by heart. But arguably, the hymn’s second verse is the most powerful, especially for someone enduring one of life’s many storms.

“What have I to dread, what have I to fear
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near
Leaning on the everlasting arms”

What beautiful words and reassurance for someone going through experiencing hurt or pain! What do we have to fear with our Lord and Savior?

Praise Him!

2 John 1:9 “Anyone who goes on and does not keep to the teaching of Christ, has not God. He who keeps to the teaching has the Father and the Son.”

Beautiful Gospel by Bay Turner for Song Discovery

Join us as we explore the incredible journey of Bay Turner, a gifted artist whose path to the national stage is a testament to God's transformative power. After an accident left his vocal cords paralyzed, Bay experienced a miraculous healing that brought him back to the spotlight. He returned to sing "Biblical" on America's Got Talent, showcasing his restored voice. In this edition of Song Discovery, Bay performs "Beautiful Gospel," a song that encapsulates the power of the gospel to reach and redeem. The song, written by Bay Turner, Tony Wood, and John Allan, features the talented Tommy Gerlach on guitar. Bay shares a poignant inspiration behind "Beautiful Gospel," recounting a powerful encounter with his grandmother, Joy, days before her passing. Guided by the Holy Spirit, Bay led her through the salvation prayer, and she went to be with Jesus shortly after. This profound experience filled Bay with peace and deepened his understanding of the gospel's beauty and reach.

Come to the River (River of Life) - Fanny Crosby Hymn with Michael Farren

In the tapestry of worship music, "Come to the River (River of Life)" emerges as a poignant anthem, inviting weary hearts into a transformative encounter with grace. Penned by the collaborative efforts of Fanny Crosby, Joni Lamb, Joshua Brown, Rebecca Lamb Weiss, Jesse Reeves, and Michael Farren, this hymn seamlessly intertwines rich lyricism with a melody that lingers in the soul. Verse 1: A Call to the Weary The opening stanza beckons the worn-out and disheartened, extending an invitation to find solace and rest in the river's embrace. The lyrics beautifully capture the essence of desperation turning to hope, resonating with the universal human experience. Chorus: The River of Life's Embrace The chorus, with its emotive crescendo, propels the listener into the river of life—a metaphorical journey that transcends the mundane. Running to the Savior's arms, the worshipper is enveloped in the grace and love of Christ, creating a poignant moment of connection. Verse 2: Redemption's Crimson Flow The second verse delves into the profound symbolism of the river, poured out from Christ's veins. It washes away stains, transforming sinners into saints. The imagery is vivid, and the impact is both visceral and spiritual. Bridge: The Invitation to Come Home The bridge, delivered with an arresting repetition, echoes the Spirit and the Bride's urgent call. It serves as a climactic moment, compelling the listener to respond to the invitation with an introspective "What are you waiting for?" This section adds a layer of urgency to the song's overall narrative. Verse 3: A Journey from Heaven's Throne In the final verse, the river is unveiled as a celestial force, flowing from Heaven's throne to welcome the prodigal home. The imagery is evocative, creating a sense of divine embrace and belonging. Conclusion: A Masterful Collaboration "Come to the River (River of Life)" is a masterful collaboration that effortlessly blends the timeless words of Fanny Crosby with the contemporary touch of Joni Lamb, Joshua Brown, Rebecca Lamb Weiss, Jesse Reeves, and Michael Farren. The song transcends eras, offering a timeless message of redemption and restoration. Its ability to bridge traditional hymnody with modern worship sensibilities makes it a standout addition to any congregation's repertoire. This hymn is not just a song; it's an invitation to experience the transformative power of grace at the river's edge. Visit www.worshipleader.com for further insights on worship. #WorshipMusic #Hymns #ComeToTheRiver #MichaelFarren #FannyCrosby

Down from His Glory by Howard Adler

Recorded by my dad in the Summer of 2017 at the age of 81. My dad went home to be with Jesus on February 19th, 2022. This was one of my favorite songs of his that I heard him sing many times in church in my childhood. I always loved the high note at the end of the song. Maybe that's why I like to sing high notes in many of my songs now...I am so grateful for the dad that God blessed me with and how he and my dear mom pointed me to Jesus! I'm so glad to have this album to be able to still share my dad's music ministry even now after he's gone to heaven.

Heartily Cherished Lord (Psalm 18)

The Faroese singer / songwriter Eydun Jacobsen wrote this song and has been sung in Scandinavia ever since. It uses the text of Psalm 18. As the Danish lyrics are easy to follow and find online, I have not added it. This version is from Kristent Felleskap, Kristiansand in Norway. I have tried to keep the intimate nature of the original. This texted version was then used successfully at a church service texted in both languages, and it proved successful enough to consider uploading it for the enjoyment of others. The translation I made over a period of 3 days. It may be short, but it takes time to find something that fits the original rythm, text and fits the melody naturally. Six Women Deliver Soul-Stirring 'Amazing Grace' Performance

A group of six women delivered a soul-stirring performance of the most beloved hymn of all time, “Amazing Grace.”

There are many classic songs and bands. Some that immediately come to mind are likely The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dolly Parton and others. Those bands and musicians are responsible for creating songs that are still heavily played and listened to today.

While it may not exactly be in the same genre as something by The Beatles or The Rolling Stones, “Amazing Grace” is undoubtedly a classic song. It is still widely played and performed. Despite being hundreds of years old, musicians still continue, and rightfully so, to play that beautiful song about God’s grace, love and forgiveness.

In a clip posted on YouTube, six women sing “Amazing Grace,” and it’s a lovely and stunning vocal performance by everyone. Each woman shows they have been incredibly blessed with much musical talent as they sing about God’s truly amazing and awe-inspiring grace.

The opening verse of “Amazing Grace” is one that many likely have memorized, but those words are still as emotional and meaningful as if hearing them for the first time.

“Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind, but now I see”

The song is likely beloved and meaningful to many because it perfectly describes a place where every Christ follower has found themselves at one time. No one deserves Christ’s love, forgiveness and grace. Yet, because He is so loving, He offers and extends that grace to sinners, completely changing their lives in the process. When they realize the difference that Christ has made in their lives, it’s like they were blind before and can now see.

Hebrews 4:16 “Then let us come near to the seat of grace without fear, so that mercy may be given to us, and we may get grace for our help in time of need.”

Stunning 'Because He Lives' Rendition Lyric Video

A handful of gifted performers gave a stunning rendition of the beloved hymn “Because He Lives” in a lyric video.

Hymns are some of the best, most moving and emotional pieces of music. Also, at the same time, they are some of the most underutilized. Many people and churches have moved away from the classic church tunes. Instead, they have chosen to go with more contemporary Christian music.

That’s a shame because those hymns are so well-written and full of so much truth. “How Great Thou Art,” “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” “Amazing Grace” and many others will never be topped. No matter how many times you hear a hymn, it never loses its meaning or emotional impact. Those words about Christ’s love, faithfulness and grace are as true today as they were when those hymns were first written.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Bill Gaither and his wife Gloria, the song’s original writers, and several other singers perform one of those beloved, classic hymns, “Because He Lives.” It’s an excellent and moving performance that gets the entire crowd on their feet and singing along with them.

Of course, the classic song praises God’s love and sacrifice in sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to Earth to die on the cross for us. But not only did He experience a horrible, humiliating and painful death on our behalf, but He also rose from the grave, winning the ultimate victory over sin and death.

The song’s chorus perfectly and articulately captures Christ’s love and sacrifice for us, a bunch of sinners who were and are not deserving of such love.

“Because He lives, I can face tomorrow
Because He lives, all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living”

This is one performance that you’ll want to listen to and watch repeatedly.

Romans 5:8 “But God has made clear his love to us, in that, when we were still sinners, Christ gave his life for us.”

Chris Rupp's Stunning A Cappella Rendition of 'Lift High The Cross'

Chris Rupp’s Stunning A Cappella Rendition of ‘Lift High The Cross’

The incredibly gifted and skilled Chris Rupp has turned in a stunning a cappella rendition of the beloved hymn “Lift High the Cross.”

The world is full of lost and hurting people struggling to simply make it through each day. Many are looking for even the slightest, the tiniest glimmer of hope. They are crying and reaching out for any help, anything at all that will ease their pain and suffering.

Thankfully, there is one who can ease their pain, put their minds at rest and give them the peace they so desperately desire. Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, willingly went to the cross and suffered and died for sinners, both you and me included.

The cross, the spot of the Savior’s pain and eventual death, is also a sign of the ultimate sacrifice and His never-ending love. It was at the cross that Christ took our spot. He bled and died so that we might someday experience eternal life with Him.

In the video, Chris performs the hymn “Lift High the Cross,” which is about Christ dying on the cross. However, that is not the end. Three days later, He arose, leaving an empty tomb and willing the ultimate victory over sin, death, and shame.

The beautifully written lyrics perfectly and accurately articulate Christ’s love, signified by the cross and the price Christ willingly paid for you and me.

“Lift high the cross
The love of Christ proclaim
Till all the world adore
His sacred name”

As he always does, Chris knocks it out of the park with his outstanding vocal performance. He demonstrates his incredible musical talent and gifts. The entire rendition is him creating those sounds himself, using only his voice.

The video is also beautifully shot. Chris walks along a beach with the ocean behind him as the waves crash along the rocks.

1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the word of the cross seems foolish to those who are on the way to destruction, but to us who are on the way to salvation, it is the power of God.”

Dennis Quaid's Emotional 'Just As I Am' Performance

Longtime Hollywood actor Dennis Quaid turned in an emotional and moving performance of the beloved hymn “Just as I am.”

Perfection is not a possibility. No one on Earth can do it. Everyone has flaws, imperfections and blemishes. Humans are a fallen and lost group; all are born into sin following the bite of the apple in the garden.

Sin created a rupture, a division between humans and God. Human beings did and have willfully turned their backs on the Lord, His ways and commands. In our arrogance and disobedience, we chose our way over His.

But, as the Bible says in John, that did not stop Him from sending His one and only son to Earth. Jesus Christ went to the cross, bleeding and dying on the cross, taking our place as a sacrifice. He paid a debt we will never be able to repay.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Dennis beautifully sings the hymn “Just as I am.” It’s a beloved hymn about how Christ calls and accepts sinners to stop and turn to Him immediately. There is no need for them to clean or ready themselves before coming to Him. Christ’s love and forgiveness are available to all. All anyone must do to receive this gift is to repent of their sins. God will do the rest. He will and does change lives.

The timeless tune’s opening verse perfectly captures and articulates Christ’s amazing love and how He calls all sinners to come to Him just as they are.

“Just as I am, without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me
And that Thou bid’st me to come to Thee
Oh, Lam of God, I come, I come”

For whatever reason, some people may believe that they are too far gone to receive this gift of forgiveness and love. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Christ is calling all to come to Him in their current and present state.

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Chris Rupp Captivates with A Cappella Rendition of 'His Eye Is On The Sparrow'

Incredibly talented musician Chris Rupp captivates with a stunning rendition of the beloved hymn "His Eye is on the Sparrow.'

This world is full of disorder, unrest, strife and never-ending conflict and disagreement. Individuals are constantly searching for something, anything to give them temporary relief from life's pressures, worries, burdens and concerns.

To many people, peace is a foreign concept and word. People always look at and think about the next conflict, challenge and worry. This thinking and living will wear someone down quickly physically, mentally and emotionally. No one can keep up that lifestyle, never allowing their mind to escape the day's problems.

Most people in the world are searching for something to help alleviate their pain, worries and burdens. They look here or there and come up empty every single time. But there is one who provides calm, comfort and peace, which the Bible says surpasses all understanding.

In the clip, Chris performs "His Eye is on the Sparrow." It's a hymn about those everyday worries and issues everyone is concerned about: What will we do about this or that? How will we pay this bill or make that payment?

Instead of worrying ourselves sick, the lyrics remind us that our daily worries and concerns are not the be-all and end-all. God has His eye on and takes care of the Sparrow. Do we really think that if he cares that much about a bird, He will forget us and our needs? Surely not!

The song's beautiful chorus reminds us that Christ can and will meet our needs. He keeps a watchful and protective eye on us.

"I sing because I'm happy

I sing because I'm free

His eye is on the Sparrow

And I know He watches me"

He is more than faithful, answering those who call upon His name.

Matthew 6:26 "See the birds of heaven; they do not put seeds in the earth, they do not get in grain, or put it in the storehouses; and your Father in heaven gives them food. Are you not of much more value than they?"

Alan Jackson's 'Leaning On The Everlasting Arms' Lyric Video Touches Hearts

Alan Jackson’s moving and powerful performance of “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms” in a lyric video touches many hearts.

Hymns are some of the most underutilized and underappreciated pieces of music. Those beautiful church tunes are always elegantly and beautifully written, telling of the Lord’s amazing love, mercy, grace and faithfulness. So much emotion and meaning are packed into those often short verses and choruses.

Most people cannot listen to hymns like “Amazing Grace,” Great is Thy Faithfulness,” and “In the Garden” without getting emotional or tearing up. And it doesn’t matter how many times you’ve heard them either; you’ll usually react similarly. Those lyrics will never lose their meaning.

In a clip posted on YouTube, country music legend Alan Jackson gave a stirring performance of another familiar hymn that is a favorite of many, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.” Once again, that is a piece of music that, regardless of how many times you may have heard it performed, you will always grasp and feel the emotion and the meaning behind those beautiful lyrics.

“What a fellowship, what a joy divine

Leaning on the everlasting arms

What a blessedness, what a peace is mine

Leaning on the everlasting arms”

If you are unfamiliar with the words, all the lyrics appear at the bottom of the screen as Alan masterfully belts them.

No one can listen to that song or read those lyrics and not immediately feel better. That beloved hymn reminds us of the love, peace and protection freely available to all in the Lord Jesus Christ.

As the Bible mentions, followers of Christ understand that He offers a peace that surpasses all understanding. When the world is chaotic and everything seems to be falling apart, we can rest assured that we can always rely on and lean upon those everlasting arms.

Praise His name!

Isaiah 41:10 “Have no fear, for I am with you; do not be looking about in trouble, for I am your God; I will give you strength, yes, I will be your helper; yes, my true right hand will be your support.”

Kings Return Stuns With A Cappella Cover of 'The Old Rugged Cross'

A group of incredibly talented vocalists, Kings Return, stunned with their powerful and moving a cappella cover of the classic hymn, “The Old Rugged Cross.”

Everyone has been blessed with different gifts and skills in one or multiple areas. How we use these gifts, or whether we use them at all, is completely and totally up to us. However, since they are God-given talents and abilities, we’ll ultimately answer to Him for how we decide to use them.

Did we use those unique abilities to bring glory and honor to His name? Were they used in a way that helped to build and grow the Kingdom of God?

Kings Return is a cappella group whose members have been blessed with abundant God-given talent. Soon after hearing their voices and beautiful harmonies, you’ll agree that their abilities have come from above, as they routinely produce angelic sounds.

In their latest clip posted on YouTube, the guys use their voices for a stunning “The Old Rugged Cross performance.” Of course, “The Old Rugged Cross” is a favorite hymn of many. The lyrics are memorable and iconic as they perfectly capture the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ. He went to the cross, where he suffered greatly and ultimately died for sinners. He went through all that for you and me.

Many are familiar with the hymn’s opening verse, but it continues to mean a great deal to many.

“On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross

The emblem of suffering and shame

And I love that old cross where the dearest and best

For a world of lost sinners was slain”

“The Old Rugged Cross” is very similar to “Amazing Grace” in that no matter how many times you hear that hymn, you’ll never get tired of it. Those lyrics will never lose meaning and will always cause many to react emotionally upon hearing of Christ’s loving and world-changing sacrifice.

1 Corinthians 1:18  “For the word of the cross seems foolish to those who are on the way to destruction, but to us who are on the way to salvation, it is the power of God.”
