The Gospel as It Relates to Joesph

Joseph's story is more than a flannel-board reminder of how good things come to those who persevere. It's much bigger than that.

The Christian Wife, The Heart of the Home

This is one more essay going over the immeasurably valuable work of the homemaker, as well as reassuring the doubtful, or the scornful, that the work of the homemaker is both possible and relevant today. Not only that, but modern society and technology make it better than ever. Let us repent, and restore the Christian home.

I will post this piece at the bottom of the Christian Homemaker page at my holiness and reform website https://holinessofthebride.com.

Curse of the Pharisees

This was inspired as a response to modern believers who call anyone a Pharisee who wants biblical standards. I cover a number of scriptures which teach holiness and obedience, and go on to review what the Word actually criticizes the Pharisees for. If you want holiness in your congregation, don’t let yourself be bludgeoned by the word Pharisee. Just keep speaking the truth no matter what.

I will put this article up at my holiness and reform website https://www.holinessofthebride.com.

Acts 5:32-42

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. 33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them. 34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; 35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men. 36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought. 37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. 38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

Genesis 41:1-57

And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river. 2 And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow. 3 And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river. 4 And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. So Pharaoh awoke. 5 And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good. 6 And, behold, seven thin ears and blasted with the east wind sprung up after them. 7 And the seven thin ears devoured the seven rank and full ears. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream. 8 And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.

Jude 1:16-21

16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. 17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life

Acts 5:26-31

26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, 28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. 31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Pastor Letter, Revival

This is my letter I gave to my pastor during Revival Week. It requests the church encourage revival in 5 areas of our lives including marriage, gender roles and modesty. The letter contains much the same material about reform I publish throughout my website, but I put it out there in letter format so you can use it in your own churches. Our pastors are under enough pressure to go liberal or adopt kooky doctrine. Let’s encourage them to do the right thing instead!

I will soon publish this article at my holiness and reform website https://www.holinessofthebride.com. May the Lord spark the fire of repentance and revival.

LASTing Peace, Week 47, The Secret of Psalm 16

This whole Psalm is delicious, but there are two tiny verses near the bottom that tell us how to find peace, security and, yes, happiness. And we're not just talking emotions here...God cares about our flesh and bones!
