Carrie Underwood Helps Lead Worship at Tennessee Church

The incredibly talented and super popular Carrie Underwood surprised many when she took the stage at a Tennessee Church to help lead the praise and worship portion of the service.

Most churches have a familiar, predictable flow to their Sunday morning services. Typically, there is a small portion at the beginning in which the church leaders take time to recognize and welcome everyone to church. It makes perfect sense. You want to make everyone feel welcome and that their presence is appreciated.

Next, churches will move into their praise and worship portion. Usually, churches will sing a handful of songs. Some may sing a couple, while others could sing as many as five or six. This all happens before the pastor brings the message that the Lord has laid on his heart for that week. There may be some slight differences, but for the most part, that is how many churches organize their Sunday morning service.

However, one church, Rolling Hills Community Church, in Franklin, Tennessee, changed things up quite a bit, and it had nothing to do with the flow of their service. According to CCM Magazine, they had a former American Idol and Grammy Award-winning singer unexpectedly help lead their worship service.

In the clip posted on social media, Carrie appears on stage without any announcement about her presence. Along with the choir and the other musicians on stage, Carrie joins in and sings a handful of praise and worship songs, including “Goodness of God,” “I Thank God” and others.

Carrie’s appearance on stage at the Tennessee church should not surprise many. She has been very outspoken about her faith in the past. In an interview with the Cincinnati Enquirer, Carrie specifically mentioned how much her faith has impacted her.

“My faith has always played an important role in my life and career,” she said. “It means so much to me to be able to infuse spirituality into my music, which I’ve done in every album I’ve recorded and even more so with my holiday album, “My Gift,” and my gospel hymns album, “My Savior,” which celebrates the songs I love to sing in church growing up.”

Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”

We can’t help but focus on the powerful lyrics as the world of uncertainty falls away, and we’re reminded we are never alone:

‘Tomorrow morning if you wake up,

And the sun does not appear

I, I will be here’

These words speak to the heart of what we want in love. We want someone we can depend on no matter what. We want someone who will hold us steady when life isn’t. And we want someone who will always be present. Thank the good Lord for His unconditional love, comfort, and peace. In Jesus, we have all of these things and more.

With its timeless message and Chris’ stunning a cappella version, this performance is an invitation to stand on God’s promises that He is always with us, He will never forsake us, and we are never alone. Join us as we explore the incredible journey of Bay Turner, a gifted artist whose path to the national stage is a testament to God's transformative power. In this edition of Song Discovery, Bay performs "Beautiful Gospel," a song that encapsulates the power of the gospel to reach and redeem. The song, written by Bay Turner, Tony Wood, and John Allan, features the talented Tommy Gerlach on guitar. Bay shares a poignant inspiration behind "Beautiful Gospel," recounting a powerful encounter with his grandmother, Joy, days before her passing. Guided by the Holy Spirit, Bay led her through the salvation prayer, and she went to be with Jesus shortly after. This profound experience filled Bay with peace and deepened his understanding of the gospel's beauty and reach.

Heartily Cherished Lord (Psalm 18)

The Faroese singer / songwriter Eydun Jacobsen wrote this song and has been sung in Scandinavia ever since. It uses the text of Psalm 18. As the Danish lyrics are easy to follow and find online, I have not added it. This version is from Kristent Felleskap, Kristiansand in Norway. I have tried to keep the intimate nature of the original. This texted version was then used successfully at a church service texted in both languages, and it proved successful enough to consider uploading it for the enjoyment of others. The translation I made over a period of 3 days. It may be short, but it takes time to find something that fits the original rythm, text and fits the melody naturally. A Country Artist or Worship Leader?

In this video, country artist Jackson Michelson shares his journey from playing music in church to becoming a successful country musician. He emphasizes his aversion to labeling art, appreciating artists who embrace diverse styles. Michelson's musical roots are in church, but his career took an unexpected turn when he started writing love songs for his wife. After recording these songs in a Vancouver studio, he received unexpected feedback: people loved his "country music," a genre he hadn't intentionally pursued. Local country radio stations picked up his songs, leading to a rapid rise in popularity with extensive touring and airplay, including on Sirius XM's The Highway. Despite his growing fame, Michelson remains true to his roots as a storyteller, writing about personal experiences and other people's lives. He reflects on the intersection of secular and sacred music, expressing his belief in the power of storytelling in both contexts. For Michelson, leading people through stories and worship is a unified experience, whether he's singing about life or leading worship. He embraces the idea of being in the world but not of it, and finds joy in singing to the "King of Kings," illustrating his seamless transition between country music and worship. CAIN's Inspiring 'Believe On Jesus' Music Video

In a world often filled with noise and distractions, Cain's inspiring song ‘Believe On Jesus’ music video offers a refreshing and inspiring message of faith and hope. The music video for this soul-stirring song opens with a serene scene: towels are dropped on a sunlit beach, and one of the band members reverently places a Bible down before the group walks into the ocean, setting the stage for a journey of faith and reflection.

As the band members sing, rollerblade, and stroll along the beach, their harmonious voices and joyful movements remind viewers of the transformative power of believing in Jesus. The lyrics of ‘Believe On Jesus’ are a heartfelt invitation to embrace faith, especially when life's path seems uncertain or challenging.

The opening lines of the song resonate deeply:

‘Has the road that you’ve been walking on
led you where you wanna go?
Did the things you’ve been trusting in
bring you high then leave you low’

These words acknowledge the struggles and disappointments that many face, offering a gentle reminder that there is a better way—a way illuminated by faith in Jesus.

The chorus echoes this powerful message:

‘Believe on Jesus
Call upon His name
Believe on Jesus
And you will be saved’

With each verse, the song builds a compelling case for faith, encouraging listeners to open their hearts and let Jesus into their lives. The lyrics speak to the universal longing for love and purpose, promising that these can be found through belief in Jesus.

The songwriters—Logan Cain, Taylor Cain Matz, Madison Cain Johnson, Jonathan Smith, and Ethan Hulse—have crafted a poignant and uplifting anthem that is both a call to action and a source of comfort. As the song beautifully declares, believing in Jesus has the power to transform lives, offering peace, salvation, and a new beginning.

‘Believe On Jesus’ is more than just a song; it's an invitation to experience the life-changing love of Christ. Whether you're rollerblading down a beach or facing life's toughest challenges, this inspiring tune reminds us all to keep the faith and believe.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Never The Same' CAIN Soul-Stirring Lyric Video

The popular and incredibly talented Christian music group CAIN has released an official lyric video for their soul-stirring song, “Never the Same.”

Perfection is an impossibility for human beings. Due to sin’s widespread influence and impact on our world, no one will ever be able to reach a standard even close to perfection. Everyone has flaws, imperfections and failures. All will and do make mistakes and stumble.

Despite our very obvious human flaws, God still loves us for some inexplicable reason. He can, will and still does work in the lives of lost and broken people. The Lord can forever change a heart and a life. We don’t have to live a life burdened and weighed down by sin and shame.

Some people may be under the misconception that they are too far gone, too much of a sinner to ever be forgiven for their past. However, that is a total and complete lie and wrongheaded idea. No one is ever too far from the love, mercy, grace and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.

In their official lyric video for “Never the Same,” the members of CAIN sing about how Christ can and will come into one’s heart and life and wash away their sins, making them a new creation in Christ.

The song’s beautiful lyrics perfectly capture the change and the difference that Christ makes in the lives of sinners.

“I looked in the eyes of mercy

I ran to the arms of grace

I knew forever I was

Never the same, never the same, never the same”

Once an individual confesses with their mouth and believes that Jesus Christ is the risen Lord, they will never be the same. They will be forgiven. God is loving and faithful and extends His mercy and grace to sinners.

Praise His holy name!

Romans 10:9 “Because, if you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and have faith in your heart that God has made him come back from the dead, you will have salvation.”

Anne Wilson and Brooke Ligertwood Shine with Powerful Dove Awards Performance

Check out this powerful performance at the Dove Awards from Anne Wilson and Brooke Ligertwood of the songs, ‘My Jesus’ and ‘What A Beautiful Name.’

‘Are you past the point of weary?

Is your burden weighin' heavy?

Is it all too much to carry?

Let me tell you 'bout my Jesus’

This amazing performance of these two powerful songs took place at the 53rd Annual GMA Dove Awards. Anne Wilson did a wonderful job singing her song ‘My Jesus,’ and at the end of the song, she shared about how she lost her brother in a car accident in 2017. It was the lowest she had ever felt, and in her sadness, she went to her piano and played, ‘What A Beautiful Name’ by Brooke Ligertwood. That song became a part of her journey, and she ended up singing for the first time in front of an audience to that song at her brother’s funeral.

After Anne Wilson shared that story, Brooke Ligertwood joined her on stage as they sang ‘What A Beautiful Name’ together. And what an incredible and powerful performance from the two singers!

Anne Wilson has previously discussed writing ‘My Jesus’ and the events that make up the story behind the song.

“A few years ago, I went through a season of tragedy. My older brother, Jacob, who was my best friend and someone I looked up to in every way, lost his life in a car accident at the age of 23. That night I heard God's voice so clear and He spoke to me for the first time,” Anne shared. “He said, ‘Anne, are you going to trust me or not?’ I answered, ‘Jesus, I trust you.’ In an instant, Jesus lifted the heavy weight off and told me that He would give me everything I need to get through this. Jesus began to show me that He was a personal God.”

When people hear the song ‘My Jesus,’ Anne hopes that they are reminded that Jesus is personal and sees us in all of our heartaches and trials. He is our hope and strong foundation.

We hope you enjoyed this performance of ‘My Jesus’ and ‘What A Beautiful Name’ today!

Jordan Feliz's 'Praise God For That' Uplifting Lyric Video

The incredibly talented Jordan Feliz has released the official lyric video for his new and uplifting song, “Praise God for That.”

Life is not always an easy, happy-go-lucky experience. It can often be the exact opposite. Living in this lost and fallen world, we will all experience struggles and periods of extreme grief, pain and sorrow. Sadly, that's a part of life due to sin’s impact on the world.

But despite whatever troubles we may encounter or the hardships we might face, God is still good. Humans sometimes have a habit of focusing on the negative, but God continues to bless and provide, even during those not-so-pleasant times, and He deserves praise for that and so much more.

In the official lyric video posted on YouTube, Jordan performs his song “Praise God for That.” It’s an uplifting and encouraging song that reminds Christians that we have a loving, faithful and merciful God. He has done so much in our lives that He deserves all praise, honor and glory.

We’re all guilty of overlooking and taking for granted the many blessings and things that God does and provides us with continually, without us even asking. In the tune’s second verse, Jordan sings about some of the things in our lives that we might overlook at one time or another.

“Praise Him for friends and family

For the very air we breathe

For having everything we need

Won’t somebody come praise the Lord with me”

In the third and final verse, Jordan sings about praising and thanking the Lord for answering all our prayers, for the peace that only He can provide and for constantly showing immeasurable patience each time we stumble and fall.

The Bible mentions that we are to bring our requests and petitions to Him. But praising Him for all the good and wonderful blessings in our lives is also a good and right thing to do.

Hebrews 13:15 “Let us then make offerings of praise to God at all times through him, that is to say, the fruit of lips giving witness to his name.”
