(The play begins with Herbert Asquith's speech to Parliament, declaring war on Germany in 1914. If you would like to skip to the trenches, go to 4:44)
A young poet, fresh to the front, recounts the miraculous events of Christmas, 1914, in which Christ revealed His dominion and love by commanding the nations, "...be still, and know that I am God."
Blood and Peace is based on a collection of authentic accounts written by the soldiers who experienced the miracle of the Christmas Truce, 1914. While the persons are fictionalized, the setting, the history and much of the dialogue remains in direct quotation of the variety of literary sources used in researching the event.

Twelve teenagers are brought together in a Christian Youth Service. Twelve issues are confronted with one message: "Something Needs to Change." The question is, "Will they take the first step to the next chapter of their life or will they remain in the pit that they find themselves in?" This is a NON-PROFIT FILM. Crosswalk.com editors Shawn McEvoy and Stephen McGarvey are back with a review of Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise and directed by Joseph Kosinski. Oblivion derives its elements from several well-worn sources (and gives knowing nods to them) while offering impressive sights and sounds, especially in IMAX format. But ground-breaking sci-fi this is not.
Crosswalk.com’s Stephen McGarvey and Shawn McEvoy discuss what makes 42, the story of Jackie Robinson, such an inspiring story. In this video review, Steve and Shawn also cover the role of Christian faith in Robinson’s example and whether the film is appropriate for young viewers.
Jackie Robinson broke the infamous baseball color barrier by becoming the first African-American to play in the MLB. Wherever he went, there was segregation. He faced abuse, threats, and injury by people filled with intolerance and hate – including fellow baseball players. He turned the other cheek. He endured. In doing so, he changed people with his courage and grace. In 1997, Major League Baseball retired the number 42 for all teams, making it the first number in sports to be universally retired. The only exception is April 15th—Jackie Robinson Day—commemorating the date of his first game as a Brooklyn Dodger. On that day alone, players from every team proudly wear Number 42 to honor the man who altered the course of history.
42 starring Harrison Ford and Chadwick Boseman release in theaters Friday, April 12.
