Sometimes, we need to sing an old song with a new twist. Check out a fresh take on the classic song, 'I'll Give Thanks' by Housefires.
Every once in a while, we need a reminder to be thankful individuals and a thankful body of Christ. This song is a beautiful reminder of God’s unchanging quality, faithful love, and our abundance of blessing in Him.
As we see this stunning young woman sit and stand in the worship of the Lord, she leads the room in a powerful time of praise and celebration. It is an encouraging take on a timeless worship song. Whether we feel that we have a lot to be thankful for or we feel we do not have enough, we can join in singing with thankfulness to Jesus.
The bridge tells us not to worry because God knows what we need. This repetitive lyric speaks to our hearts. He provides for us and sees us in all things. Just when you think the song is ending, the piano, alongside the vocalist, takes you into the traditional hymn, “Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus.”
We are compelled to join in the song and worship our living God through this precious and familiar melody. This is an amazing rendition of two wonderful songs that really bless our hearts to sing and join in. Wherever we are today, when we have Jesus, there is always a reason to be thankful. We can use gratitude by His Spirit to help us connect with Christ. Instead of living life defeated, we can give thanks for the victory we have in Him.
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” John 15:5
Chandler Moore and KJ Scriven join Housefires on the song “Good Good Father,” and it’s hard to imagine a more genuine, heartfelt, and beautiful tribute to Heavenly Father than the one they offer.
Written by Housefires band members Tony Brown and Pat Barrett, “Good Good Father” became an instant hit when it was recorded by Chris Tomlin. The song was the first single, released on October 2, 2015, from his 2016 album, Never Lose Sight. Housefires had previously recorded the song on their 2014 album entitled Housefires II.
Chandler Moore begins the song, singing and playing the piano. The 28-year-old Charleston, South Carolina native currently partners with Maverick City Music. He is joined by pastor and Grammy Award-winning songwriter KJ Scriven at 2:30.
The two featured artists are joined by a host of other singers, each uniquely exhibiting their love for Jesus. While some are animated and physical, others move gently and quietly to the music. Some smile brightly, and others are somber. Hands raised, eyes closed, heads bowed, eyes open—there are a hundred different expressions of worship. Isn’t that just how it should be? Each of us is equipped to communicate our admiration and affection for the Savior and Almighty God in the precise and perfect way He intended us to do so.
“Good Good Father” held the number one spot on the Hot Christian Songs chart for seven weeks.
Oh, I've heard a thousand stories of what they think You're like
But I've heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
And You tell me that You're pleased
And that I'm never alone
“Good Good Father” assures believers of the most important things we need to know. He is always with us. He always loves us. He always knows exactly what we need. Seriously, a Father’s love doesn’t get any better than that!
“For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness.” Hebrews 12:10

Some of the biggest names in Christian music joined forces for a new tune about the birth of Jesus Christ from the new film “Journey to Bethlehem.”
Christmas is the best time of the entire year. Despite the bone-chilling wind chills and frigid temperatures that so often accompany that time of year, it’s a season to celebrate. It’s a time intended to be spent with friends, family and those closest to us remembering the birth of the one who changed the world forever: Jesus Christ.
Steven Curtis Chapman and the guys from We The Kingdom in their song “Brand New Life,” sing about this joyous occasion. The Savior of the World lowered and humbled Himself as He was born in a lowly stable and placed in a manger surrounded by farm animals.
The song’s first verse mentions spotting a star in the sky, witnessing the night sky shining with a brightness never thought possible and hearing a choir of angels singing. Christ, the newborn king, has finally arrived. It is indeed a time of celebration.
The chorus encourages all to come together and celebrate this most joyous event of the Savior coming to Earth.
“It’s a brand new life a gift from Heaven
Showing hope will rise and all’s forgiven
If you believe then join with me and celebrate
Celebrate this brand new life”
“Brand New Life” is a beautiful song that likely perfectly captures the joy and utter happiness that the wise men, shepherds and everyone else who was anxiously awaiting Christ’s arrival felt that night. They were all celebrating the brand new life that had come to save mankind from their sin and shame.
“Brand New Life” is a catchy, upbeat and truth-filled song about the birth of the Savior that deserves more than a few listens. It’s also a track almost guaranteed to get stuck in your head, leaving you humming it for several hours after that final listen.
Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
A group of talented youngsters turned in a moving and emotional performance, singing a song about thanking the good Lord for His countless blessings.
Most people are blessed beyond measure and do not have any room to complain. God consistently meets and fulfills our basic needs. In fact, He usually goes above and beyond those needs, even delivering a fair amount of those wants and desires on top of those needs. He is a good, faithful and loving Lord.
Thanksgiving is a terrific opportunity to stop and praise the Lord for all He has done, is doing and will do in our lives. Yes, the path forward and destination ahead can appear murky and unclear at times. However, God is always there, delivering blessings and meeting our needs.
In a clip posted on YouTube, a children’s choir sang a song of praise and worship, “Thankful.” The song’s beautiful lyrics help put life into perspective, forcing listeners to stop and consider how much the Lord has blessed and touched their lives.
“For every good thing that I have comes from God
Every day, every hour
There are blessings He sends without number or end
If I counted a hundred or a thousand, I’m sure
There would still be more”
In life, it’s easy to complain about what we’re lacking. Most people concentrate on what they do not have instead of what they have been blessed with and graciously given. This is something that everyone walking on the face of the earth is guilty of doing.
However, no one particularly likes someone constantly asking for this or that. Everyone would do well to adopt an attitude of gratefulness, especially toward God and all He has done and continues to do.
Even during life’s many trials and hardships, God is still loving and faithful and works to provide for and meet our needs. He pours out His blessings on those who love and follow Him.
Isaiah 44:3 “For I will send water on the land needing it, and streams on the dry earth: I will let my spirit come down on your seed, and my blessing on your offspring.”
I wrote this song after reading Psalm 19. I realized how much we take life for granted by what God has created for us to enjoy. His creation and beauty surrounds from above and on earth. I hope this song blesses you!
