"Solo: A Star Wars Story" is a Facelift to a Story Far Far Away

Fans who cut their teeth on the original trilogy may well appreciate what director Ron Howard has done with this story set about a decade before the events of the original Star Wars: He's made things fun again.

"Show Dogs" is Saturday Morning TV Fare; Some Scenes are For the Dogs

Show Dogs is a kids' movie through and through. However, there are some scenes and elements that bring caution to give it a "family-friendly" label.

The Worldview of Star Wars: Its Similarities to (and Many Differences from) Christianity

When filmmaker George Lucas was asked in 1999 about the religious aspects of the Star Wars story, he didn’t deny that the films borrowed from the world’s faiths. In fact, he said it was intentional.

A fascinating look at how Star Wars is similar and dissimilar to Christianity....

Avengers: Infinity War is almost impossible to classify. Is it good? Is it bad? Hard to say. Aesthetically it works: It takes risks I've never seen in the genre before, and it's got some really satisfying moments. But it's not, in the end, a very satisfying movie.

Rampage - Big Meets Bigger

This is a typical Dwayne Johnson movie: Buildings explode, the end of the world is near, and only one man can save the day … I’m sure you can guess who that is.

You'll be a Fan of Inspiring "Miracle Season"

While it's not perfect, either aesthetically or from a content perspective, The Miracle Season keeps its nose pretty clean and its story pretty compelling.

"Paul, Apostle of Christ" Raises the Bar on Faith-Based Movies

As more and more Christian movies seem to make it to the marketplace, let me just say this to aspiring faith-oriented moviemakers: This is how it's done.

'I Can Only Imagine' is Smashing Success at the Box Office

The recently-released Christian film I Can Only Imagine shocked critics this past weekend at the box office by bringing in $17.1 million.

What's next for the blockbuster film?

Actor Dennis Quaid Talks about New Film 'I Can Only Imagine': 'It Hit Me So Profoundly'

Christian actor Dennis Quaid recently appeared on the Today Show to talk about his role in the new movie I Can Only Imagine, which is based on the popular MercyMe song of the same title. Quaid gives us insights into his role as an abusive father who's life is dramatically turned around.

"I Can Only Imagine" Portrays the Link Between Pain and Redemption

Every song tells a story. But sometimes the story behind a given song is more dramatic than the song itself.  That's the case with "I Can Only Imagine," the 2001 MercyMe song that surged seemingly out of nowhere to become the biggest-selling Christian single of all time.

Does the hit song make for a hit movie?  Find out!  From our friends at PluggedIn.com

"Tomb Raider" Reboot Attempts to Bring More Dimension to Lead Role

All in all, this Lara Croft reboot does female empowerment right, albeit in a slightly over-the-top, cinematic video game sort of way.

4 Reasons To See "A Wrinkle In Time" (and 1 Disappointment)

Here are five things we learned: four reasons to be excited about this new major blockbuster, and one disappointment to prepare for (especially for fans of Madeleine L'Engle’s beloved book)...

"Early Man" Does Comedy Old School

This is just a wacky tale about a cave-kid who tries to slow the wheels of progress and save his tribe and home. You might squint and see a light environmental message, I suppose. But that's as heady as anything gets here.

"Black Panther" Breaks New Ground

Most Marvel movies make a mint upon release, and this one will be no different. But the buzz surrounding Black Panther has hit a whole different level. It's the first blockbuster superhero movie not only to star a black hero, but a predominantly black cast as well.

"Maze Runner: The Death Cure" - Just Enough Life for a Fitting Conclusion

Though most young adult movie series tend to flame out before their final chapter, Maze RunnerThe Death Cure has just enough momentum to keep audiences entertained while it ties up loose ends. It may not satisfy every fan, but this final film still gives the franchise a welcome sendoff.

"Forever My Girl" is a Pleasant Sunday Stroll in the Country

A touching blend of A Walk to Remember and Country Strong, Forever My Girl is the heartwarming film that we all need to kick off 2018.
