A hospital staff helps baptize an elderly patient and the touching moment is all caught on camera. In this day and age, it’s important to lift up the important moments where God completely shines through. It seems like every time that you turn on the news or watch a video, there is something bad going on. There is so much hate in our world today that it can be tough to find the positive aspects. It’s so important to remember that God is alive and working all around us, even when we think He’s not there. And this special baptism is the perfect example. Kenneth Connors is a patient at an Alabama hospital. This elderly man has only fifteen percent of his heart functioning properly. But when it came time to hand his life over the to Lord, nothing could stand in his way. With the help of hospital staff and doctors, Kenneth was unhooked from his machines and transported to an area where he could be baptized. Kenneth is in his eighties, but he proves that you are never too old or too far gone to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. Just watch as this incredible baptism takes place right in front of our eyes. It’s truly a blessed moment when someone makes the decision to accept Jesus Christ into their hearts and give themselves to Him. I sure wish we could see more positive and faith-filled moments like this on the news or on social media. Welcome to the family, Kenneth! The fan-favorite stuttering comedian, Drew Lynch, returns to the America’s Got Talent stage during the championship season. We first met Drew during the tenth season of AGT, back in 2015. This funny guy developed a stutter after a devastating softball injury when he was 23 years old. But that wasn’t going to stop him from following his dream of stand-up comedy. So, Drew pushed his nerves and anxiety aside to audition for the panel of judges. He immediately earned praise from the audience and judges. Judge Howie Mandel was so impressed with the routine that he pressed the golden buzzer, sending Drew straight to the live shows. This young comedian made it all the way to the finals where he finished in second place, behind ventriloquist Paul Zerdin. Now, Drew is back for the special edition of the show, America’s Got Talent: The Champions. This special format features 50 contestants who have won or been featured on previous editions of the show. These competitors come from all over the world and now they’re all vying for the ultimate winner’s title. Once again, Drew earned a standing ovation with his routine about wearing a retainer. Howie had more praise for Drew saying, ‘I can’t tell you how proud I am of you. You are not only a great entertainer, but a great spokesperson and a great example. And I’ve got to tell you something, you have grown by leaps and bounds.’ I’m so glad that Drew was invited back and continues to make us laugh with his unique sense of humor.

When 3-year-old Casey Hathaway wandered into the woods behind his grandma’s house, the family was in a panic. The weather brought low temperatures and freezing rain, so some feared the worst for Casey. They searched the forest for hours, but could not find the toddler. Three days passed before a search team found Casey trapped in thorn bushes. It was truly an answer to everyone’s prayers. The young boy was cold, but otherwise in good health. After this terrifying incident, experts are sharing tips for others, in hopes that it will prevent this from happening again. Survival expert Shane Kobel says one of the most important tips is to stay put. “You’re now keeping the same distance and/or eliminating the distance, starting to decrease the distance from that search team. If you continue to move, you could be gaining distance from them.” Also, let you children know about insulation. Utilizing your surroundings, such as leaves and other debris can help keep you warm in frigid conditions. Shane reminds us that you can climb into a pile of leaves or even stuff them into your clothes for added warmth. While we hope we never have to use these skills, it’s always important to remind the younger ones around us of the dangers and tips for survival. James and Oliver move one judge to tears with their brotherly contemporary dance. Even though these two young men are not related, they share a beautiful bond. James and Oliver are both talented dancers with a dream of making it big. Together, they are taking their skills to the big stage as they compete on The Greatest Dancer. This new show follows dancers of all ages and genres as they compete for prize money and the chance to appear on Strictly Come Dancing. At first, the dancer is hidden behind a wall. As they start to perform, the audience is given the chance to vote on the audition. If more than 75 percent of the audience likes the dancer, the mirrored-wall will open and the dancer moves on to the next round. Just watch as the boys start to dance to the popular song ‘7 Years Old’ by Lukas Graham. They move in perfect synchronicity as they portray a brotherly relationship. This performance was so powerful, in fact, that it had judge Matthew Morrison wiping away the tears. After the successful routine, he said, “I found myself obviously just really really moved by that. I’m an only child but I always wished I had an older, just a brother in general. The camaraderie you have with each other, I know you guys aren’t related, but it was so beautiful to watch.” These two young boys certainly have a talent for dance and this is just the beginning of their journey. It was a moment full of emotion when an 11-year-old boy is rescued from frozen pond. Every winter season, we hear terrifying stories of people falling through ice. For many people living in cold areas, this can hit all too close to home. As temperatures continue to drop, it's important to remember how dangerous these areas can become. If you live or play near a body of water, ice can form over top of these areas. But if the ice is too thin, trying to move across it can lead to cracks and falling to the freezing waters below. That’s exactly what happened to this young boy who fell through the ice in Naperville, Illinois. After he fell into the pond, the 11-year-old’s feet became stuck in the mud. He was at risk for exposure when first responders arrived on the scene. Thankfully, they were able to pull him to safety using a rope and floatation device. The young boy was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, this type of situation is far too common and happens to humans and animals, alike. If you live in a colder climate where ice may form on ponds, please be aware of your surroundings and look out for others. And if you find yourself in this terrifying situation, some of the biggest things to remember are to control your breathing and do not panic. If you can start to kick and pull onto the ice, you can climb out of the chilling water. While I hope none of us ever has to use these tips in real life, it's still a safety reminder that we should all listen to.
