This talented daddy-daughter duo warmed the hearts of the world with their rendition of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water.’
This iconic song was released in 1969 by the popular duo Simon & Garfunkel. Over the years, many artists have lent their voices to this tune with notable performances from Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin and Andrea Bocelli.
There is no doubt that this song has truly stood the test of time. It’s combination of difficult notes and poignant lyrics make it a one powerful number to perform.
“When you're weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes,
I'll dry them all (all)
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough
And friends just can't be found
Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down”
Father-daughter pair Mat and Savanna made headlines earlier this year when their performance of ‘The Prayer’ went viral. Now, they’re back with another classic cover and it might be even better than their first.
After Savanna first heard this iconic song, she knew that this should be their next cover. She wrote about the inspiration behind the performance on YouTube. “My mom has always reminded me that “We rise by lifting others.”
We are entirely free to support and celebrate our fellow men on this life journey; to encourage, lead, learn from, and love. Be a bridge over someone’s troubled water, and you’ll soon find that that by doing so, your cup was filled, too.”
It was a heartwarming moment captured on camera when this Amazon delivery driver prays over a package.
Monica Salinas was delivering medical supplies to a house in Nampa, Idaho when the sign on the door stopped her in her tracks. The note explained that these deliveries were for 8-month-old Lucas Pearson, who suffers from a congenital heart defect.
This means he is at a very high-risk for contracting COVID-19. Parents Raquel and Derek posted the thank you note on the front door to let workers know of their appreciation during these unprecedented times.
When Monica saw the note, the doorbell camera captured her stopping and saying a prayer. “God, Heavenly Father, please protect this family, help them get through another day, please don't let them go without and baby, just grow up to be strong. And then I said ‘Amen’ and I blessed myself and got on my way.”
When she spoke to Inside Edition, she said, “that's the kind of stuff that makes my heart cry and I felt the need to pray.” The family was touched by the prayer and shared the video online. The moment quickly went viral with many people commenting on Monica’s uplifting spirit in the face of many troubling days.
This is such a beautiful reminder that it only takes a moment to spread kindness and joy in a world that is desperately in need of positive news. We are lifting up the entire Pearson family in prayer and giving thanks for good people like Monica.
On America’s Got Talent, trained pigs part of an act called Pork Chop Revue brought the laughs for the audience and judges.
Les Kimes and his wife, Nina, are from Florida and they brought their pig family to the America’s Got Talent stage to show off some tricks. The pigs even dressed up in some cute costumes for the occasion! Before the audition starts, one of the pigs roll out a long, red carpet. Then the different pigs, all ranging in size, performed tricks like jumping over hurdles, rolling barrels, and even pushing a baby pig in a stroller!
The impressive and comedic elements of the audition sure brought a smile to the faces of everyone watching the performance. And the act showed just how intelligent pigs are. They can be trained to do so many things!
Les’s father started Pork Chop Revue back in 1956, and he showed his act on Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, and Mike Douglas’ shows. Les has been involved with Pork Chop Revue since he was a child, and he took over the show when his father died in 1979.
Before bringing Pork Chop Revue to America’s Got Talent, Les has brought the act to festivals, fairs, and theme parks all over the country.
It is exciting to see that this family act that has been around for decades is now being introduced to a new generation. And what a better way to do that than through American’s Got Talent, one of the most-watched shows on television!
By the looks of the judges and the audiences’ reaction, Pork Chop Revue was a success and brought laughs and smiles to all that viewed the audition! Les and Nina must be so proud of their sweet pigs, and we hope that they continue on in this competition.
The Voices Of Our City Choir earn the first golden buzzer of the season with their inspiring performance on America’s Got Talent.
This incredible group was formed to help combat homelessness in the San Diego area. Through music, they offer members the chance to truly shine in their personal and professional lives.
On their website, The Voices Of Our City Choir describe their unique program. “Professional musicians, staff and volunteers provide a safe space each week for music making – this is our “outreach” without it feeling like outreach. We offer the unsheltered community the space and opportunity to connect with themselves through the healing power of group singing, songwriting and guitar workshops.”
Today, they are taking their talents all the way to the America’s Got Talent stage for an unforgettable audition. The group belts out the words to an original song titled ‘Sounds Of The Streets’ and it moved the entire theater. “The words of the song were very special. They were so perfect for you guys. I think we need more people like you,’ said new judge Sophia Vergara. But it was host Terry Crews who was overcome with emotion after the performance. He walked onto the stage and down to the judge’s table. “What they did today has moved me to this point right now.”
That’s when he reached down and pressed the golden buzzer sending Voices Of Our City Choir straight through to the live shows. I cannot wait to see what this inspiring group has in store.

Rising country artist Karen Waldrup performs an awe-inspiring acoustic rendition of ‘God Bless America.’ As we walk through these troubling times, it’s more important than ever to come together and help one another.
'God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above
From the mountains to the prairies
To the oceans white with foam
God bless America, my home sweet home’
Karen is described as “a triple threat musician, songwriter and recording artist known for her thrilling performances and nostalgically new style of country music.” Today, she is lending her vocals to ‘God Bless America’ for an acoustic performance for Country Rebel’s Fireside Sessions.
As she stands on her own, Karen truly makes you feel the weight of every single word. It definitely takes a talented voice to pull off a hard song like this, but Karen belts it out perfectly.
It is obvious that she has a passion for singing and she is using those God-given skills for the entire world to hear. And as soon as she started to sing, I knew this was going to be a rendition to remember.
There are a few tricky notes in ‘God Bless America’ and your voice has got to be nearly perfect to pull of this patriotic tune. But, I think we can all agree that Karen did this song justice. Who else was singing along as she hit that iconic note at the end of the song?
In this creative video, a virtual choir gives the song ‘The Longest Time’ by Billy Joel some new quarantine lyrics.
“I have been at home in quarantine, stopping spread of COVID-19
What else could I do? Don’t want this virus from you!
I haven’t left here for the longest time
Exercise by jogging ‘round my room, online meeting taking place on Zoom
Though this is safer, we’re out of toilet paper!
We haven’t left here for the longest time”
The two responsible for adapting the new lyrics to this Billy Joel classic are Nicholle Andrews and Zach Timson. And many members from over a dozen choirs in Canada helped contribute their beautiful voices to this project.
“Wishing everyone the best of health from Vancouver, Canada!” the caption of the video reads. “Stay home, stay safe, and keep singing!”
The people in the video go on to sing about how self-isolation is helping the nation, because it is flattening the curve. They also sing about how far you should distance yourselves from others if you leave the house: “If you choose to venture out today, stay at least 2 meters away!”
The song sure is catchy and will make you want to sing along with their new lyrics!
“I had hopeful thoughts at the start. I said to myself – I will do my part!
Washing hands, not touching my face! I long for your embrace and it’s all that I hope for.
It’s my job to do all the right things. Social distancing as I sing!
I miss you so bad! But I think you ought to know that I intend to stay here for the longest time!”
“Not only are the vocals perfect, but those lyrics are GENIUS!” writes one person on YouTube.
“A lot of bad things happened because of COVID 19. This is definitely not one of them,” comments another person. “It’s so brilliantly written and sung. Definitely made my day.”
What a beautiful thing to hear all of these talented voices coming together to make such a creative song and video!
