12-year-old pianist Jacob Velazquez inspired the judges with his original song on America’s Got Talent. This young talent is not your ordinary contestant. When Jacob stepped out onto the stage, he came prepared with personality and colorful poster board. He shared with the curious judges that this was his vision board. Jacob explained that he is a very motivated young man with dreams and goals. He places all of his aspirations on this board and works hard until they come true. Aside from his musical dreams, Jacob shared another heartfelt reason why he was led to audition for AGT. “I want to be on ‘America’s Got Talent’ to show people that just because you have some kind of disability or some kind of diagnosis doesn’t mean you’re not capable of great things.” Jacob revealed that he was diagnosed with PDDNOS, which is short for Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified. Jacob explained that his condition is similar to Asperger’s and can cause speech delays. But there is definitely nothing holding back this incredible young man as he sits behind the piano and plays an incredible, original song. The judges were already in awe of Jacob’s contagious personality and his musical talent was the cherry on top. After receiving a round of applause, Jacob earned four ‘yes’ votes to move on to the next stage of competition. I am so excited to see what Jacob has in store for his next performance. Enjoy this barbershop quartet performance of the Etta James hit ‘At Last.’ This classic song was originally written in 1941 for a musical, but it wasn’t until 1960 that it became the iconic tune it is today. Etta James recorded her own arrangement and the song went straight to number one. Even decades later, ‘At Last’ continues to be regularly played and covered by other artists all over the world. And whenever you hear those famous lyrics, it truly transports you back to another time and place. “At last my love has come along My lonely days are over and life is like a song, oh yeah At last the skies above are blue My heart was wrapped up clover the night I looked at you” Today, the talented men of To The Fore are putting their own spin on these iconic lyrics and it’s definitely a performance you don’t want to miss. These four men certainly have a talent for singing and this performance during the Barbershop Harmony Society's 2012 International Convention is no exception. Held at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Oregon, this convention brings together barbershop groups from all across the nation. The best voices in their craft put on an unbelievable show. To The Fore brought these romantic words to life in a whole new way. When they sing a cappella, it truly gives each word an entirely different feel while still retaining the sound that we know and love. Who else loves hearing these barbershop quartets?

In this impressive performance, a 12-year-old named Annie Jones from Australia stuns the judges on America’s Got Talent with her pop song makeover of ‘Dance Monkey’ by the Tones and I. “So they say dance for me, dance for me, dance for me, oh, oh, oh I've never seen anybody do the things you do before They say move for me, move for me, move for me, ay, ay, ay And when you're done I'll make you do it all again” Before the start of her audition, Judge Sophia Vergara asks Annie if she is nervous at all. Annie says that she is a little bit. I mean, who wouldn’t be when they are performing in front of that big of a crowd! But once she starts to sing, there is not one ounce of nervousness that you can see in her during her performance! She has such a beautiful and unique voice, and she also has such a fun energy about her and great stage presence. It is clear that Annie, who has been singing since she was about 7 years old, knows how to show off her talent and give a stellar performance! “Everything about her was perfect, from singing to outfit!” comments one person on the YouTube video. “Totally blown away at her range and charisma,” writes another person after watching the video. “She got up there and showed what a star she is. Her voice control is stunning.” Not only did Annie get the whole room to their feet to dance and clap along to her song, but she also received a standing ovation from the audience and judges after her performance! We hope to continue to see this talented young lady on the America’s Got Talent stage as she makes her way throughout the competition.
