Parallels between Joseph and Jesus, part 3: sent by father to brothers

The Daily Pulse (Saturday, January 25, 2014): Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. Hebrews 2:11 (NIV)

God will literally bring you to tears of joy

The Daily Pulse (Wednesday, January 22 , 2014): Then Joseph could no longer control himself before all his attendants, and he cried out, “Have everyone leave my presence!” So there was no one with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers. And he wept so loudly that the Egyptians heard him, and Pharaoh’s household heard about it.

Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still living?” But his brothers were not able to answer him, because they were terrified at his presence.

Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.” When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will be no plowing and reaping. But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. Genesis 45:1-7 (NIV)

Christian Liberty Pt 3 C. David Coyle

Part 3 of a 4 part series on Christian Liberty, delivered by me in March of 1990. I find it constantly amazing that statements made in 1990 are so fresh for today. However, the nature of man doesn't change nor does God or His remedy for man's sinful nature.

Don't Rock The Boat

"Living with abandon"
Don't rock the boat
(Mark 4:35-41 NLT)
1. Don't rock the boat...things are going so well!
2. Don't worry...take a nap?
3. Don't you care?
4. Suddenly the wind stopped!
Mark 4:35-41 NLT
Psalm 107:28-31 NIV
Philippians 4:10-13 NLT

Salvation is available to all!

The Daily Pulse (Monday, January 20, 2014): Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.” Luke 2:25-32 (NIV)

No joke, it's your life we're talking about here!

The Daily Pulse (Sunday, January 19, 2014): When Moses finished reciting all these words to all Israel, he said to them, “Take to heart all the words I have solemnly declared to you this day, so that you may command your children to obey carefully all the words of this law. They are not just idle words for you—they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.” Deuteronomy 32:45-47 (NIV)
