Praise God for pain

The Daily Pulse (Thursday, May 7, 2015): For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance. Psalm 66:10-12 (NIV)

Exodus & Moses: God's Orchestration

Southside Baptist Church
May 3, 2015 - Evening Service
Exodus 1:1-2:10

Summary: We begin our study through the book of Exodus, and as we look at the beginning of the story that is so familiar, we examine how Israel fell into slavery to Egypt, how Egypt fell into fear, distrust, and paranoia, and how God began working through a baby to eventually deliver the people of God.

Peter's Journey: Expert Fish Wranglers

Southside Baptist Church
May 3, 2015 - Morning Service
John 21:15-19

Summary: We continue to look at Peter's journey of faith. In John 21, we find Peter and the other disciples struggling with the crucifixion of Jesus, and Jesus comes and strips away to facade and calls forth the disciple in Peter. As we look at Peter's journey, we think about the masks we wear, and our struggles to give God full reign in our lives.

Is darkness winning?

The Daily Pulse (Tuesday, May 5, 2015): Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold. I have come into the deep waters; the floods engulf me... Psalm 69:1-5 (NIV)

There are many falsehoods that are designed to deceive believers. Believers must know the truth and be discerning. Sometimes they must tell the adversary that they don't believe his lies.

We love darkness?

The Daily Pulse (Monday, May 4, 2015): This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. John 3:19 (NIV)

We love light!

The Daily Pulse (Sunday, May 3, 2015): "“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden..." Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV)

Minister Virgil Taylor, "Are You Chasing After God?", Psalms 42:1

People of God we should chase after God with all our might!

God's Preachers Have Always Been Unpopular! - KLPTV.ORG

God picks His preachers and does not check with you to see if you will like them or not! He sends spokesmen to your city and churches and gives you His message as recorded straight from His revelation, the Bible. The sad record is just like Israel refused to follow God for most of it's history, so Americans feel they are religious, going to heaven by their terms, and listen to the preachers they like, and reject the ones that don't suit them. Rebellious Israel always liked the ones they picked and rejected the ones God sent.

John 7:1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him. 2 Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. 3 His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing. 4 For no one does anything in secret while he himself seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world." 5 For even His brothers did not believe in Him.

To sin (sexually) is to strike yourself

The Daily Pulse (Saturday, May 2, 2015): Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV)

Resignation or Revolution

Many Christians think that everything that happens is God's will. If so, Jesus was INSANE. How so? Because he constantly did all he could to interrupt the status quo, which he attributed to SATAN, not God. As followers of Christ, we are called to do likewise, for the benefit of those in our world.

Paul, The Energizer Apostle

Much to the chagrin of the religious leaders who hated and violently opposed the Apostle Paul, he just kept going, and going, and going, and going. Even when they apparently killed him, it didn't stop him. We have the same power of God that Paul had, and we can emulate his persistence.

Romans 5:11-21

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
