Inside-Out Christians: I WILL Make a Difference

Southside Baptist Church
October 25, 2015 - Morning Service
Matthew 5:13-16

Summary: As we finish our series about being Inside-Out Christians and being the Body of Christ, we consider God's calling for us to have an impact on the world around us. While Jesus warns about wolves in sheep clothing, we consider the much greater risk of Christians who feel like they can wear the world (a sheep in wolf clothing) when they are not in the church. We take some time to recap the past several weeks and consider the difference it could make in our lives and in our churches if Christians are willing to make the "I WILL" Pledge.

A gentle reminder from my Advocate

The Daily Pulse (Tuesday, October 27, 2015): “If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you." John 14:15-17 (NIV)

10-25-15 MESSAGE: "Overcoming The Enemy Within"

The truth is we can only put out what we have within us to begin with. Overcoming the evil within us helps us to do good and bless, rather than surrender to our carnal nature which seeks to curse and retaliate. A powerful message on the truths of true holiness and godliness which is achieved by not allowing evil to triumph over good, but rather by allowing good to triumph over the evil that lies always latent within us!

Bailing out?

The Daily Pulse (Monday, October 26, 2015): “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house." Matthew 12:29 (NIV)

Go back to secular work...

The Daily Pulse (Sunday, October 25, 2015): Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee. It happened this way: Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. “I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

The enemy attacks

The Daily Pulse (Saturday, October 24, 2015): The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10 (NIV)

The Recipe for Godly Character

The Food Network is very popular these days, but it has nothing on God, who, by the way, invented all the ingredients in real food. In His Word, our heavenly Father gives us a recipe for our lives that, if we follow, will result in His considering us as "Well done." This is a tasty teaching.

Inside-Out Christians: I WILL Avoid the Traps of Churchianity

Southside Baptist Church
October 18, 2015 - Morning Service
1 Corinthians 12:27 - 13:13

Summary: As we begin to wrap-up our series about being Inside-Out Christians and being the Body of Christ, we take a close look at the power of God's love to heal and transform, and consider the necessity of God's love in our own lives as we seek to be the Church.

Husband loves your wives

Husband loves your wives as Christ loved the Church. As yourself are you doing that ??? If not why is the question I would like to ask you? https://www.trinitybiblefellowship.org/

Seek godly counsel

The Daily Pulse (Wednesday, October 21, 2015): The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice. Proverbs 12:15 (NIV)

The body

If we are the body why aren't these hands and feet and lips doing the work that the body is called to do? What prey tell in your actions tell others that you are a child of the living God? Does your life speak of Christ and his love? Do others know you to be a Christian by the love you have for others? After all, love is an action verb. https://www.trinitybiblefellowship.org/

Confused on your direction?

The Daily Pulse (Tuesday, October 20, 2015): My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” Your face, Lord, I will seek. Psalm 27:8 (NIV)

10-18-15 MESSAGE׃ “Shadow Boxing Saints“

Too many Christians fail to understand that we are not called to fight people, unbelievers, or one another. We are called to fight a spiritual war with spiritual weapons. If we continue to fight the wrong enemy, or one who is not even truly an enemy at all, we will lose the battle! We cannot win if our back is to the true enemy while we are busy facing a shadow figure who is in fact no threat at all! A powerful and important message!

Help me in my unbelief!

The Daily Pulse (Monday, October 19, 2015): Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?” From childhood,” he answered. “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”Mark 9:14-29 (NIV)
