Sometimes the Lord does things that leave us astonished! Not at all what we would expect, and often heard to even believe. But when God does that which contradicts what we have always believed and understood, it is not time to question whether or not it is God, but rather we need to re-examine what we have always believed.
Southside Baptist Church Sunday, August 7, 2016 Pastor Bishop Helsley 2 Samuel 11
Summary: This is the one everyone has been waiting for. As we follow the life of King David, we come to his epic failure with Bathsheba. As we look at how David's sin grew bigger and bigger, we find that the beginning of his sin was not with Bathsheba, but in being complacent with God's will.
Jesus asked, "Who do you say that I am?" (Matt 16:15) The answer to this question determines how we live our lives on this earth with eternal consequences. This is my first video, I pray that someone will be blessed somewhere in the world :)

Southside Baptist Church Sunday, July 31, 2016 Pastor Bishop Helsley 2 Samuel 7:1-29
Summary: As we continue to study the spiritual journey of King David, we come to a time when David desires to do something for God, but is denied by God. In David's response, we see a person who is totally focused on being obedient to God and not on his own expectations and desires.

Summary: David spent the first four years of his reign as king hiding from Saul in the desert. While David could have killed Saul and taken the throne, he refused to take victory at all costs. Our integrity and our ability to control and not retaliate or to return anger to others is essential, because no longer are our base instincts ruling over us, but as followers of Christ, we have been enslaved to God's will over our own.

Southside Baptist Church Sunday, July 17, 2016 Pastor Bishop Helsley 1 Samuel 17
Summary: David is described as being a man after God's own heart, yet his victories and failures are both clearly shown in scripture. As we look at David's spiritual journey, we consider how it might reflect our own. We start by looking at David's victory over Goliath, and how God desire is for us to focus on Him and not on the obstacles the bring fear into our lives.
