This is a short satirical piece pointing out what the contemporary churches would think of the real Jesus, not the sugary one they like to promote. They would want our Lord out of there fast.
That’s because the New Testament teaches much of what they despise: the sinfulness of man, the binding nature of Scripture, a high moral standard, repentance and real behavioral change, and threats of God’s judgment, both right here on earth and in the next life.
These are all Christian truths. In fact to ignore these truths, among others, you’ve basically got to ignore half the New Testament, and invent your own religion. This, sadly, many churches do.
