In June of 20006, then Senator Barack Obama gave a speech to the "Call to Renewal Conference" in which he addressed the relationship between politics and religion. The speech received favorable coverage from the national press, but much of that coverage missed something very significant in his views that has formed the foundation of his approach in office as president on a variety of social issues. Watch as Pastor MacLaren addresses the views of the President as identified in that speech, and compares them to the Constitutional documents on which our country was founded, and the counsel that the Scriptures give to citizens of this great country. This sermon was preached on October 7, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. The Rev. R. Scott MacLaren is the pastor.
Henry Brinton, senior pastor of Fairfax Presbyterian Church in Fairfax, VA, discusses the Biblical text Mark 10:2-16, featured in the ON Scripture The Bible article, "Jesus Stands Up for Wives and Children."
