Secret Sins (Charles Spurgeon)

Psalm 19:12
King James Version (KJV)
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

Delivered on Sabbath Morning, February 8, 1857, by the
REV. C. H. Spurgeon at the Music Hall, Royal Surrey Gardens.

When I went down those pulpit stairs a Sabbath or two ago, a friend said to me words which have been in my mind ever since—"Sir, there are nine thousand people this day without excuse in the day of judgment." It is true of you this morning. If you are damned, it will be not for want of preaching to you, and it shall not be for want of praying for you. God knoweth that if my heart could break of itself, it would, for your souls, for God is my witness, how earnestly I long for you in the bowels of Christ Jesus. Oh, that he might touch your hearts and bring you to him! For death is a solemn thing, damnation is a horrible thing, to be out of Christ is a dreadful thing, to be dead in sin is a terrific thing. May God lead you to view these things as they are, and save you, for his mercy's sake! "He that believeth and is baptised shall be saved."

"Lord, search my soul, try every thought;
Though my own heart accuse me not
Of walking in a false disguise,
I beg the trial of thine eyes.
Doth secret mischief lurk within?
Do I indulge some unknown sin?
O turn my feet whene'er I stray,
And lead me in thy perfect way."

Synthetic Christianity

Have you ever noticed, some 'Christians' will walk miles in heat to listen to God's Word for half a day, while some will not take a twenty minute drive in comfort to sit in a 90 minute, air-conditioned service? Some will cross oceans to tell others of Jesus, and some won't cross the hall of their apartment building. Some will face death for their faith, while others will not face a friend's disapproval. According to one poll, 81 % of adult Americans consider themselves Christians, but fewer than half of them could identify the preacher of The Sermon on the Mount, or name the first 4 books of the New Testament. Do not these statistics, and your own experiences suggest that there are a great many counterfeit Christians in our culture? Is the bulk of American Christianity the real thing? Is it authentic, or synthetic? Is it woven with genuine Lamb's wool, or with polyester? Where is the temporal sacrifice Jesus called His followers to endure? Where is the holiness He required in the lives of His disciples? Do the message and the methods of modern evangelicalism bear some responsibility for the large number of counterfeit Christians? Is your faith authentic or synthetic?

Today's Message of Hope #2013may26

A weekly TV church program recorded at Church of the Cross in Evansville, Indiana. This program was recorded on May 26, 2012.

What is a Christian?

Are You Really Saved?
What must a person believe and experience to be a Christian?

Some people would say just doing the right thing makes you a Christian. Others would say going to church, reading your bible, getting baptized, praying the sinners prayer, church membership, I was born a Christian, giving to the poor, and other things you do make you a Christian.

This is the kind of question that will show the true and the false Christians.
1) A Christian know how bad they are and has a need for a Savior
2) A Christian knows the remedy for their sin.
3) A Christian has responded with repentance and faith for salvation.

The Sinners Prayer?

The Sinners prayer is a false gospel of the modern day church movement. There is no such thing anywhere in the Bible as the Sinners Prayer. Many people today, confessing to be Christians, put the Sinners Prayer as the object of why they are save and not Jesus. We are not suppose to put any faith or trust in anything other thing than the person and work of Jesus Christ Himself.

Easy Believism / Lordship Salvation

Easy Believism is where a person is said to be able to be saved and have a life that does not produces good works. This is another false gospel of the American church today. This is usually contrasted with Lordship Salvation. Lordship salvation is submitting to Jesus as Lord over your life and with trusting in Christ to be saved at the same time

Does Everyone Have a Disease?

Does Everyone Have a Disease? This was made by Jeremy from https://goodtreeministries.com

The answer is YES! Sin is the disease everyone has that ends in death. Death is what sin earns a person. Everyone is born with a sinful nature because of Adam. We sin because we are sinners by nature not the other way around.
