Pastor Dunbar bases today's sermon on 2 Corinthians 9: 6-15 and particularly passage 7..."Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
“He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now.” [1 John 2:9] 1. Answer this question, "Who is your brother?" 2. Answer the question, "What are God's demands of love for brothers? 3. Answer the question, "Can a true Christian be in darkness and death?"
“We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death.” 1 John 3:14
Hello and welcome to Salem UMC!!! It's been a little while since we have posted due to our website manager's son having a car accident last weekend... But we are BACK and ready to serve... Enjoy the message.
As children we sometimes have to step back and let daddy do what we cannot do for ourselves. Why is so hard for Christians to understand that God, our Father, wants to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. So stop trying so hard to save yourself and take Him at His Word and let Him save you! Let Daddy do it!
Pastor Dunbar will have a series of sermons over stewardship for the next few weeks. Today he discusses Zacchaeus who was not only small in stature but small in heart and how Jesus rescues him from his own greed. Pastor Dunbar remind us that God has chosen us to be instruments of blessing to the world and to serve others.
