Is it possible to talk to dead people? Is it dangerous? Can dead people even talk and if not, who are people talking to when communicating with the deceased?

We're in a battle in this world. We may not see it, we might forget it's there. But the enemy would love nothing more than to fill our minds with discouragement and defeat.

Hello and welcome to Salem UMC!!! This week we welcome our VERY SPECIAL GUEST Dr. Phil Jamieson to our pulpit... We hope YOU enjoy his message as much as WE did!!!
Peace to everyone, Today’s Gospel presents us with three parables that all speak about something “Lost” that was later “Found”. One beautiful image expressed in these parables, is the Shepherd who leaves a flock of 99 sheep in his search for that one who was lost as he carries it back to safety. Many of us have lived the experience of loss, and know the anxiety and grief we’ve felt over that loss. Some of us may even feel far away from God. The Good News is that God loves us unconditionally. Jesus explained it this way, “I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.” I invite you to listen to a true story about how one person lost something of great importance, only to be filled with overwhelming joy when it was found. May this joy encourage your faith to know that God loves you and invites you to return to His Sacraments.
