I've already told my story on why I attend SL church. I don't pay attention to what the preacher or the congregation does on their free time, it ain't my business. What I do care about is the message. God has many ways to speak to you, and he uses many vessels, they aren't all perfect and I feel that's because his intent is to get your attention so you can receive the message. Too often we pay attention to the vessel and miss the message. God will send his message through tragedy, triumph, people with great behavior, people with questionable behavior, a feeling, a song, anything.

So this is for Y'all that keep saying y'all want to come to church with me here is the info, you aren't pressured to show up, I won't look at you differently if you don't come, just putting the information out there.

Judges 7:2-6 KJV  And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. 
3  Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. 
4  And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go. 
5  So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. 
6  And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

Today we celebrate Ash Wednesday; a day that marks the beginning of our Lenten Journey. There may be some of us who have participated in the Season of Lent for many years, yet we wonder, “Why 40 days? Why fast? Isn’t going to Mass enough?”
I invite you to invest 10 minutes of your time to get answers to these questions and more as we go on a spiritual journey that offers us a “Spiritual Tune-Up” and ultimately leads us to that glorious Holy Thursday Passover Meal, where Jesus transforms ordinary bread and wine into His most precious Body and Blood. May God bless your Lenten Journey with a renewed commitment to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior.
