Continually trying to please God by my good works is like trying to ride a bicycle by not falling off. I can't get anywhere—trying to ride a bicycle by not falling off. I will have my head down constantly, and will be on the ground more than I’m on the seat—hoping God doesn't notice. But to live like God's child, instead of living like an orphan in constant fear of rejection, is to focus on where I’m going. If I fall off once in a while it's just no big deal, because I’m totally focused on where I’m going. And when I do fall off, God is right there to patch me up, give me a kiss on the cheek, dust me off, and tell me: “Now you get back up on that bike and ride! Ride!”
Even those of us with a healthy childhood have had enough exposure to negligent adults in other areas of our lives that we've kind of soured on the sanctity of family. But God is a different kind of father, and His kingdom is a different kind of family than anything we’ve ever experienced in this world. And we have an open invitation to live as His children—in this life, here on this earth.
When we don't feel good we don't feel like doing anything for anyone else. Disease and sickness become words on a big red sign that stops us in our tracks. And what better way is there for the devil to put a stop to God's work than to put a stop to God's people.
The ups and downs of life can really have shaken up at times. How do we guard our hearts from the issues of life?

The vast majority of people have come to believe that dinosaurs became extinct many millions of years ago. Those familiar with evolution say dinosaurs experienced a world-wide extinction event 65 million years ago as a result of a massive meteorite or comet colliding with the Earth.
Scientists in recent years have published on the discovery of dinosaur soft tissue. Though it is possible that there was some amazing preservation process to keep the tissues soft, the most logical explanation is that the dinosaurs did not exist millions of years ago rather they existed thousands of years ago at the most.
Dinosaur soft tissue is not the only evidence for a young world. Geologically, evolutionists claim that the layers were laid down over many millions of years but there are examples around the world of cross bedding and curves in the layers which support rapid deposition while the layers were still wet. This supports a world-wide flood not evolutionary deep time.

Fear has thoughts of punishment from God, but Love says something different. When we begin to understand Love, we will be in a position where fear doesn't exist. That position is also a place where we are truly free.

There’s only so much pie to go around—or so we’re told. The world says we’re about to run out of … you name it, just fill in the blank. And it’s easy to begin to think that if I want a bigger piece of the pie, I’m going to have to take a bite out of somebody else’s piece. But God operates His kingdom with infinite resources.
Every day temptation is all around us, from trying to get us to buy certain things all the way to doing the wrong thing(s) in our lives. With so much temptation in our lives, it can truly overwhelm us. The question is "How do we resist temptation?"

Every time we abandon God's interests to pursue our own we limit ourselves to our own devices. And how well have our own efforts really helped us through the years? As for me, if lined up all my strictly human accomplishments in a row, my little granddaughter could easily step over them.

We all probably know of at least one adrenaline junkie who lives for the thrill of overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Why isn't it possible to become so addicted to living by the power of the Holy Spirit that we seek out opportunities to serve God just so we can watch His strength work in our weakness?
