I was speaking at a prayer event, to a mixed age audience, the details where chosen prayerfully and represent the milder side of a victims daily life. My face is blurred to protect my identity, from those who desire to keep me silent. I speak and write, to empower & encourage others trauma victims, that if they hold on and keep fighting healing and restoration is possible. IN addition I speak to both challenge the church to boldly extend the love of Christ, and permission, those sitting in the pews, wounded and feeling as though they must keep their pain or questions silent, that it is for freedom the we have been set set free, not to pretend we are perfect. Simply stated no matter the circumstance, Christ is always bigger than our pain. There is always hope!

I never expected God to save me. Nick became the young man that every parent wants to see their child become. Nick was saved by God's grace, love and mercy just 3 months before he left this world. Although he was an inspiration to those who knew him; his kindness, work ethic and fun loving spirit... in his last months; God laid me on his heart. Here is the last text that I ever received from Nick...: "April and I are getting baptized next Sunday and our church is praying for you; we love you and you can start denying yourself and get back to Gods plan for you, it's never too late."... It didn't even register in my mind, (at the time) that Nick had just told me he had been saved... I had lost my way and my feet had taken me places I never dreamed that I'd find myself. After Nick's death in an auto accident, I had a choice to make; self-destruction or surrender my life into the hands of our Savior Jesus Christ. I chose the latter; or should I say... the Holy Spirit reached out to me and drew me to the Heavenly Father through Christ. Now, Jesus has changed my life and my family's forever.. He paid a debt that I never could and has brought Hope and Healing beyond what I could have ever of expected. Sheree tells her family story as part of our midweek Lenten series, “God Can See You Through This…” It was just another normal day until tragedy struck the family at 7:15 a.m. on March 8, 2012. Jacob, youngest son of Baxter and Sheree, suffered a massive head trauma as a result of a single car wreck on the way to his last week of high school as a senior. Sheree takes us through this 2 year journey and shares how their daily lives have changed; doctors, work and faith. God continues to give the family strength and hope to fight on, sometimes against medical advice, as God works miracle after miracle in their lives.
