'What A Friend We Have In Jesus' Dennis Quaid Sings Classic Hymn

Listen to ‘What A Friend We Have In Jesus’ performed by actor Dennis Quaid as he sings this classic hymn.

When you think of hymns, you imagine a little white church with a tall steeple. You don’t imagine a famous Hollywood actor singing a hymn or having a relationship with Jesus. But Dennis Quaid has been breaking the Hollywood mold with his faith and films that reflect Christianity.

Today, we have the privilege to listen to Dennis’ distinct voice croon the words of a classic staple hymn. His down-to-earth style will melt your troubles and wash your soul in the peace and comfort of Christ.

Dennis shared in a video that he didn’t always believe in Jesus. He realized something was missing in life. He gravitated towards religion. Dennis researched several different religions, but he found himself going back to the Bible.

“I started reading the Bible again,” Dennis shared. “But I also read the Bhagavad Gita. I read the Dhammapada. I read the Koran. And I went back, and I read the Bible again, for, like, the second or third time. And I was really struck by the red words of Jesus.”

As God began to change Dennis’ life from the inside out, he also began taking on more faith-based roles in real-life films like ‘I Can Only Imagine’ and ‘On A Wing And A Prayer.’

He admits he isn’t perfect and he is a sinner, but he is thankful for the living saving words of Jesus. He is grateful that no matter where he is or what is happening in his life, he has a friend in Jesus. We hope this encouraging hymn reminds you of God’s presence in your life.

John 15:15 “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

‘How Great Thou Art’ Chilling Brothers Of The Heart Performance

An unbelievably talented group of musicians – Brothers of the Heart – once again have displayed their God-given gift for sound with a performance of a beloved and classic hymn, “How Great Thou Art.”

Hymns, even though they may be hundreds of years old in some cases, still deserve to be listened to and played regularly. Tunes like “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Amazing Grace” are timeless and filled with so much truth.

Another of those classic hymns is “How Great Thou Art.” In a clip posted on YouTube, Brothers of the Heart turned in an outstanding and awe-inspiring vocal performance, singing about the magnificence, righteousness and wonder of the good Lord above.

Others who commented on the YouTube link mentioned how much they loved and appreciated the group’s performance of “How Great Thou Art.”

“Absolutely precious and love this group, Brothers of the Heart,” one person wrote.

“Absolutely beautiful. You can feel the presents (sic) of the Lord,” a second individual added.

“They love and believe in the words of this song. Truly inspirational. Love these magnificent men so much. It brings tears to my eyes listening to these beautiful men sing this beautiful hymn!!” another person commented.

The hymn reminds listeners about God’s undeserving love and mercy. He sent His son to Earth, whose destiny was the cross. But instead of turning away from that agony and torture, Christ willingly went to the cross, bleeding and dying to wash away the sins of man.

“Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art”

The hymn’s chorus is simple but utterly beautiful and memorable. Christ, because of His sacrifice, dying and suffering on our behalf, is worthy of all honor, glory and praise.

How great thou art, indeed!

Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for you have created all things, and for your pleasure they are and were created.”

Elvis Presley Performs Classic Hymn ‘In The Garden’

The legendary and late entertainer Elvis Presley, who recorded and played a wide range of music, gave a touching and moving performance of one of the most beloved hymns, “In the Garden.”

Elvis Presley, decades after his death, remains a giant in entertainment. The multi-talented star of both stage and screen possessed a charisma not often seen. Wherever he went, screaming, cheering and adoring crowds of fans followed. He helped revolutionize music, combining many different genres. Elvis wasn’t called the “King of Rock and Roll” for nothing.

Not only did Elvis sing the blues, country and rock ‘n’ roll, but he also sang a fair amount of gospel music. A clip posted on YouTube is of Elvis giving a delightful performance of the hymn “In the Garden.” It’s that unmistakable, one-of-a-kind voice belting those memorable and beautiful lyrics.

“And He walks with me, and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known”

In his illustrious career, Elvis turned out one memorable hit song after another. His presence in the music industry still looms large today despite his death in 1977. Performers continue to try and emulate Elvis Presley’s sound and style.

But no matter how much they may try or how close they get to sounding or looking like Elvis, they will never truly succeed. There will only ever be one Elvis Presley. Not many, if any, performers could have turned in such a moving, emotional and beautiful performance of a hymn that has been heard for generations.

A handful of others who commented on the YouTube clip wholeheartedly agreed with that assessment.

“The one and only Elvis, singing a perfect song,” one person wrote.

“What a voice! That’s so beautiful and comforting! Only Elvis can do justice to this song!” a second individual added.

“Emotional and powerful in the same time!!!! What a voice!!!” a third person posted.

Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always: again, I will say, Rejoice.”

‘O Holy Night’ TAYA Performs Classic Christmas Hymn

Popular and immensely talented Christian musician TAYA gave a warm, lovely and dazzling rendition of a song about the evening when the Savior entered the world, “O Holy Night.”

The Old Testament books of Isaiah and Micah told of the coming birth of Jesus. He would be the one sent by God to save man from sin and shame. It was a birth and a moment in time that many were anticipating and anxiously awaiting. So, it only makes sense that the birth that would and has ever since changed the world would be remembered as a momentous occasion, a cause for celebration from that point forward.

In a video posted on YouTube, TAYA sings one of the most beloved hymns of all time, one that captures the world-changing impact of Christ’s birth, “O Holy Night.”

In the second verse, TAYA beautifully sings how Christ’s entrance into the world radically changed everything. What was once before His birth was now no more. Thinking and customs have changed since Jesus Christ was born in a Bethlehem stable surrounded by barnyard animals.

“Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His Gospel is Peace
Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother
And in Jesus' name, all oppression shall cease”

Her rendition of the beloved song is one that is more than deserving of several listens. She sings with so much emotion, perfectly capturing the feeling of the momentous, world-changing birth that had taken place in that little town of Bethlehem to a virgin.

TAYA’s cover is one, much like any Christmas tune sung by Bing Crosby, Mariah Carey or Elvis Presley, that deserves to be in heavy rotation every Christmas season.

TAYA, the young woman, has been tremendously musically gifted. She shows off her immense vocal skills with a staggeringly beautiful cover of a beloved song about the birth of Jesus Christ and the following celebration.

Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child has come, to us a son is given; and the government has been placed in his hands; and he has been named Wise Guide, Strong God, Father Forever, Prince of Peace.”

Voices Of Liberty Perform ‘Battle Hymn Of The Republic’ At Disney World

A group of talented vocalists at Disney’s EPCOT demonstrated their awe-inspiring gifts with a touching performance of a patriotic, Civil War-era tune, the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Anyone who has visited Disney World in Central Florida is more than familiar with EPCOT. Of the four Disney theme parks in the Sunshine State, EPCOT is geared more toward giving its visitors an educational experience.

The park’s attractions revolve around facts about space, the history of communication and agriculture. Additionally, an entire section of EPCOT is dedicated to several countries around the world, immersing parkgoers in the history and culture of a particular country. One of those countries found in the World Showcase section of EPCOT is the United States of America, which informs about the history of the US.

In a clip posted on YouTube, “Voices of Liberty,” an a cappella group at EPCOT,  gives a touching, moving and beautiful rendition of “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Before their performance, one of the group’s members provides listeners with some background information on how the Civil War-era song came to be, which included $4, a poem and President Abraham Lincoln.

“Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
He have loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on”

The amount and level of talent involved in this cover is staggering. There is not a false or missed note from any of the vocalists. In fact, their voices reach for and hit impressively high notes throughout the performance. Those are, without a doubt, several world-class voices who help to comprise The Voices of Liberty.

By the end of their captivating and emotional performance, the crowd showed their love and appreciation by giving the vocalists a well-deserved and thunderous round of applause.

Galatians 5:1 “Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and be not entangled with the yoke of bondage.”

Jennifer Hudson And Pentatonix Perform ‘How Great Thou Art’

Some of the biggest names in music – Jennifer Hudson and Pentatonix – joined forces and gave a stunning and emotional performance of the classic hymn “How Great Thou Art.”

There are some tunes, regardless of how much they are played and heard, that never get old. Those special tracks never lose meaning or significance and always remain near and dear to our hearts. It might be because of beautiful, well-written lyrics or a cherished memory attached to a specific song.

Hymns are classic pieces of music that mean a lot to many people. Songs like “Amazing Grace,” “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and “Blessed Assurance” are just a few of these classic church hymns that are still played in church.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Jennifer Hudson and Pentatonix perform another of those masterfully written hymns, “How Great Thou Art.”

The video is of a segment from The Jennifer Hudson Show in which the a cappella group Pentatonix were her guests. Jennifer mentions she was on one of their albums and starts to reminisce about a time when she performed with the group, saying how much she enjoyed it. She called it “one of her favorite holiday memories.”

Jennifer then asks the group if they can recreate the moment and sing a little of “How Great Thou Art” together. They happily agree to Jennifer’s request, which sends the studio audience into a frenzy.

Then, in just a matter of moments, the studio audience and those watching at home are treated to a delightful performance of the beloved hymn telling of the Lord’s awe-inspiring and powerful mercy, love and grace.

“Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art”

What a terrific rendition from several talented and gifted performers!

Isaiah 40:28 “Have you no knowledge of it? Has it not come to your ears? The eternal God, the Lord, the Maker of the ends of the earth, is never feeble or tired; there is no searching out of his wisdom.”

I wrote this song back in 1981, or so when I was in prison for 30 years over 20 years ago home now free, and loving Jesus. When I first come home I began growing my first tomatoes for the Spring season in my house. It was a project I've always wanted to do. In Maine the summers are short but the soil is beautiful. I give all the glory for the many years God has restored back to me that the locust stole from me as an addict, and criminal most of my young years but when He touched me I was no longer the same...Amen!

‘Grateful’ Gaither Vocal Band Thanksgiving Hymn

A group of supremely talented vocalists, the Gaither Vocal Band, performed a catchy, upbeat tune about being appreciative and thankful for what the Lord has done and provided.

The calendar only has one day dedicated to and set aside for giving thanks for the many blessings in our lives. However, having an attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness is something all Christians should possess the other 364 days of the year. Stopping and giving thanks is not only a good habit, but it’s also biblical. Throughout God’s word, and in many different instances, Christians are to give thanks to the Lord.

In a clip posted on YouTube, the five men who comprise the Gaither Vocal Band sing a tune about being thankful and grateful, which is appropriately called “Grateful.”

The five men, joined by a sixth gentleman strumming on the guitar, praise and worship the Lord for what He has done and continues to do in their lives. In the first verse, the guys sing about appreciating the small things often overlooked in our rushed, hurried lives.

They mention how they are thankful for each brand-new day that the Lord gives them. Seeing and feeling the sunshine on their face in the morning, hearing the birds chirp and simply enjoying a cup of coffee are blessings, according to the talented singers.

In the song’s chorus, the singers praise and thank the Lord for allowing them to experience another day on Earth.

“Grateful, grateful
Oh, I’m oh so grateful
Lord, I’m grateful
Grateful for this day”

Thanksgiving is a holiday essentially dismissed by the retailers and the advertisers. Every year, places like Walmart, Kroger and Target quickly go from Halloween to Christmas with their supplies and store décor, completely skipping over Thanksgiving.

But despite the reluctance of some of the massive retailers to recognize the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s one that should get much more attention from everyone, including Christians. Being thankful and grateful should not be confined to one day out of the year but practiced all 365.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks: for this is the purpose of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Choir Of Children Perform ‘All Because Of Him’ New Christmas Hymn

A group of youngsters gave an inspired and emotional performance of a Christmas song about the real meaning and reason for the entire season.

The Christmas season is a wonderful time of year, a statement that is likely to get near 100 percent agreement. It’s a time filled with friends, family, gatherings, gift exchanges and entirely too much food. What is there not to love about all of that? But with so much going on, and with the number of obligations and requirements increasing dramatically during Christmas, it’s easy to get caught up and forget the meaning of all the celebrations and festivities.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a choir of immensely gifted children sing “All Because of Him.” It’s a beautifully written new Christmas song that reminds listeners about that night in a stable in Bethlehem when a baby boy arrived, forever changing the course of history and giving hope to a lost world.

Without the birth of Christ, all the gifts, parties and meals surrounding the Christmas season would be pointless. But thankfully, God sent His one and only Son into the world for our sake. It was a move of love and mercy. As the song correctly states, “No other babe born on earth would change everything for us.”

Because of the baby boy’s birth and His eventual excruciating death on that cross a mere 33 years later, all now have a chance at everlasting life with Him.

“There is strength for the battle
And love that never dims
Hope for a better world
All because of Him”

Gatherings with family and friends, exchanging gifts, singing festive, Christmas-themed songs and sharing a meal or two together are great and terrific ways to spend the holiday season. But we must never forget the real meaning and reason for the season because it’s “all because of Him.”

Luke 2:7 “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Sara Evans And Daughter Sing ‘O Holy Night’ Christmas Duet

A country music star and her daughter combined their beautiful voices, making for a stunning duet as they performed a beloved Christmas classic.

Christmas is a terrific season, full of smiles, hugs, gift-giving, family gatherings and usually, an obscene amount of food. Sure, all of that helps to make the Christmas season a wonderful time of year, but without the birth of Christ, the Savior, it would all be completely meaningless.

Sara Evans and her talented daughter, Olivia, remind listeners and viewers about the real meaning behind all the celebrations, the gifts and the food. The mother-daughter duo takes the festively decorated stage together for a lovely rendition of the timeless Christmas classic, “O Holy Night.”

“O Holy night! The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
‘Till He appears, and the soul felt its worth”

The performance is a duet, with both lending their voices, belting out the lyrics about the world-changing evening when Jesus Christ made his much-anticipated entrance. However, Sara, a much more experienced and seasoned performer, shoulders most of the singing duties.

It's clear the talent in the family did not stop with Sara. Olivia does have an outstanding voice, but her mother does outshine her daughter, singing out considerably louder than her daughter.

Regardless of who does what and who is heard more and longer in the song, Sara and Olivia are using their considerable platform to sing about and spread the real reason for the season: the birth of Jesus Christ. Before Christ entered the world, taking our place and dying on the cross, all were lost and without hope. Christ’s birth in that manger all those years ago changed everything.

Like the lyrics the two talented ladies sing, their performance is also beautiful. It’s a rendition that is more than deserving of several listens and views.

Luke 2:7 “And she had her first son; and folding him in linen, she put him to rest in the place where the cattle had their food, because there was no room for them in the house.”

Dad And 2 Sons Perform ‘O Holy Night’ Christmas Hymn

Three talented musicians – two young men and their father – performed a beloved Christmas tune about the night the King of Kings and Lord of Lords made His entrance into the world.

Christmas is special, often regarded as the best time of the year by many. The Christmas season is near and dear to the hearts of scores of individuals, likely for a number of reasons. Perhaps it’s because of a favorite, time-honored tradition. Maybe it’s because a delicious and delectable dish makes its much-anticipated reappearance during the Christmas season.

While traditions and customs may vary among families, there is only one reason to even recognize the season and for the annual gatherings: the birth of Jesus Christ. Without that baby being born in a lowly manger more than 2,000 years ago, none would have ever had a chance. All would be lost, forced to live out their days in their sin and shame.

In a clip posted on YouTube, three musicians perform a classic Christmas song, “O Holy Night.” It’s a song about the evening that forever changed the course of history. Of course, it’s the night when Jesus Christ was born.

The three young men show off their musical abilities while performing in a picturesque, snow-covered wooded area. One belts out the lyrics, while another tickles the ivories on a keyboard, and an older gentleman plays the cello. It’s the absolute perfect location to sing a Christmas song.

“O holy night! The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth”

Their cover is outstanding, heartfelt and well worth more than a few listens.

Additionally, the camera essentially acts as another performer. It moves swiftly around, providing close-ups of the musicians and their instruments. Viewers are also treated to different shots of the outstanding and breathtaking scenery.

Luke 2:7 “And she brought forth her firstborn son; and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.”
