Sanaz still visits Jojo every day. She shows up, and Jojo still runs. They take car rides together—just a woman and her rooster, driving through town like it’s the most normal thing in the world. I’m a mom, and I’ve seen it in my own kids. The bond between a child and their dog is something magical. It’s God's way of saying, “Here’s a friend for the journey.”

A little girl fed several horses but hilariously avoided one unexpected creature. The child had no fear of the large, full-grown horses. However, she did not want to get anywhere near one critter. Watch the short but hysterical video to see the youngster’s reaction when she spots the large creature.

Children, for the most part, are fearless. They will do just about anything and everything (and say anything in front of anyone). It has to be that they don’t know enough to be afraid or fearful of someone or something. They don’t have the intention or desire to hurt anyone, so why would anyone want to hurt them, their thinking must go.

However, a clip posted on social media shows a little girl who knows enough to do whatever she can to stay away from one large bird. The video shows the youngster as she visits several horses in a stable. She confidently bangs on the horses’ enclosures to get their attention, letting them know it’s time to eat.

Once the horse understands what the child is doing, she offers them a single carrot. The horses gently but quickly chomp down upon and gobble up the vegetables right out of the child’s hand. Despite how big those animals are, the child does not show any fear of them whatsoever.

But about halfway through the clip, as she continues to feed the animals, someone unexpectedly shows up and disrupts her process. An emu appears about halfway through the video. The child wants nothing to do with the bird.

“Oh, I’m not going that way,” the little girl says after spotting the bird in her way.

She reverses course and goes in the complete opposite direction. Later, the bird returns, and it starts to come toward her, and she makes sure to keep a close eye on it, not letting it come near her.

I cannot blame her at all. I would do whatever I could to avoid those large, ugly birds.

A husky gets into an adorable disagreement with its owner. The canine and the woman behind the camera did not see eye-to-eye on a particular subject, and both pleaded their case for why they were right. Watch the short but hysterical clip to see and hear the husky loudly argue with its owner.

How can you not love dogs? They are loyal, dependable to a fault and love unconditionally. Treat them with love and kindness once, and you’ve found yourself a friend for life. Dogs really are man’s best friend.

In addition to being loving and dependable, one clip posted on social media shows some dogs can be a bit argumentative. In the video, the husky is a bit perturbed that it was not let outside even though it failed to get up when the door was opened. The woman and dog go back and forth, having the cutest and most precious argument.

Each time the woman addresses the animal, the beautiful dog responds. The woman makes her case, saying the husky was too lazy to get up and go outside when the opportunity was presented. The dog refuses to let it go and genuinely seems annoyed that the woman will not simply agree and just let him outside now.

At one point, the woman accuses the animal of being sassy and giving her lip.

“Get up and go,” she tells the animal. “I got enough; I got enough dogs that sass me; I don’t need my baby boy sassing me.”

Their sweet disagreement does not end with hard feelings but with scratches on the head and a few tail wags.

Do you remember your very first best friend? In this case, it’s a toddler and a black lab’s adorable bond that will no doubt melt hearts. 

 We all had best friends when we were little. They were the ones who were there for every scraped knee, every belly laugh, every whispered secret under a blanket fort. For Charlie, a toddler with eyes full of wonder and a heart wide open, his first best friend isn’t just one—it’s two. Moose and Poppy, his English Labs, have been by his side for as long as he can remember.

They are the kind of friends who don’t need words, just presence. Moose, the older one, watches from a quiet distance, steady and sure. But Poppy? Poppy is all in every single time. She is joy, wrapped in fur, bounding through the house with the kind of energy only a dog who has found her person can have.

And then, something small but telling. Poppy, in all her excitement, sneezes—a quiet signal in the language of dogs. It’s her way of saying, “I’m playing. I’m being gentle. You are safe with me.” Someone in the comments notices it, too. “It’s like she knows she has to be careful, so she’s doing zoomies with the parking brake on.” Another writes, “The way she keeps checking in to make sure he’s okay—that’s love.”

And isn’t that what makes this so beautiful? Not just the laughter, not just the play, but the way she sees him. The way she moves with just enough restraint, even in her wildest joy. The way he trusts her completely. Because love—real, deep, steady love—does that. It runs wild but stays near. It delights but protects. It moves fast but never too far.

Charlie may not know it yet, but he will. One day, when childhood is a memory and Moose and Poppy are names he speaks with longing, he’ll realize what a gift it was to be loved like this. To have had best friends who never needed words, just an open door and a heart big enough to hold all the love they had to give.

It started with a cry—a tiny, helpless sound lost in the hush of morning. A newborn lamb, still slick from birth, was searching for warmth, for comfort, for a mother’s touch. But instead of drawing her close, his mother turned away. That’s when a dog named Max became a loving parent to this sweet, rejected baby lamb. 

Max stood by and kept watch as her humans did everything they could to foster the mother bond for little Beau. No matter what her human tried—rubbing him with his mother’s scent, giving them time in close quarters—she wanted no part of him. She only grew more distant, more agitated, until the answer became clear. She wasn’t going to be his mother.

Max, the family dog, had been watching from the sidelines. And when she heard Beau’s cries, she couldn’t ignore them. She knew what the sound of feeling lonely felt like. She also knew what it felt like to belong to a family. So, she padded over, sniffed the trembling lamb, and then, with the gentleness only a dog can muster, he licked Beau’s face as if to say, “It’s okay, I’ve got you.” And from that moment, Max did.

They became inseparable. Max kept watch while her human mom bottle-fed Beau, standing guard like the fiercest protector. They napped together, curled up in the sun-drenched house. They ate lunch side by side—one drinking milk, the other crunching kibble, but both knew they belonged to each other. And they played like nobody’s business. They loved to run and play a game of tag. 

Max taught Beau how to play, how to trust, and how to feel safe. And Beau, in her own little way, taught us so too. Max something too—how to love like a parent, how to step in when someone needs you most.

But then came the day every foster parent dreads—the day Beau had to go back with the other sheep. He had grown strong enough, big enough. It was time.

His human mom was worried. Would Beau forget? Would he disconnect now that he was back in the flock? Had the love Max poured into him mattered?

And every time Max is out in the pasture, Beau comes running. No hesitation. No forgetting. He nudges Max, plays with her, lingers by her side. Because love doesn’t just disappear. Love remembers.

Max didn’t have to care for a tiny, rejected lamb. But she did. And because she did, Beau will never be the same.
