I've always found the blues a great medium for singing about the gospel - I guess it's a good vehicle for the journey from being lost to finding redemption. I recorded this on an album called Trust in the early 1990s. This live version is from Godsong Cafe, a Christian music show on Shine TV in New Zealand.

Alright is inspired by some words from Psalm 72 & is the opening track from Kindness In A Strong City (1986).

Prodigal Son is from my 1986 album Kindness In A Strong City, though this version was recorded for Christian TV sometime in the early 2000s.

The lyrics to Nothing Else are from a short prayer by St John of the Cross, a monk from the Renaissance period. I put them to music quite a few years ago as they spoke to me about the surrender which Jesus asks us to make to him. A lot of people respond to this song, both believers & others. This live version is from a busking session at a market in Auckland. The mandolin player is my wife, Brenda Liddiard.
