If you are frequently frustrated by the results of your prayers, I encourage you to consider the possibility that you are praying to persuade God to take on your position rather than praying that you might take on His. I've had plenty of failures in prayer, but I can't think of a single instance of failure occurring when I knew God's position and I prayed in agreement with His position.
If God doesn't seem to answer your prayers on any kind of a consistent basis, it's very important for you to consider the possibility that you aren't in agreement with God. Otherwise, you risk giving up on faith.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV)
The substance of your hope is your faith in God. Hope is the great motivator. Hope is like the sunshine and the water on a growing plant. Remove the sunshine and the water and the plant will not only quit growing, but will eventually die.
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12 NKJV)
As human beings, we cannot stand too many failures of hope before we start to get weak and begin to wither away. In other words, we can't just keep asking God over and over again to help us without seeing some results. Without seeing any results, we will eventually just quit asking.
But we will not see any results as long as we are asking from our position instead of His.

When these wonderful Good Samaritans noticed a homeless dog they tried to catch her and did their best to feed her. But they realized they needed help, so they called Hope For Paws. And seeing them rescue this sweet girl named Mandi made my heart so full. Just look at transformation!

Little Lizzie almost lost her life to secondary drowning, but an informed relative caught the condition in time. Please spread this warning to others this summer season.

When Linkin' Bridge stepped on the America's Got Talent stage, I definitely wasn't expecting an a cappella rendition of 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow.' Even the judges were shocked by this performance. What a talented group of gentlemen!

Faith is sometimes treated like a kind of political skill to be used on God—to convince Him of our position. But while I may be correct in trying to convince another person of my position, I am never correct in trying to convince God. In fact, trying to persuade God to do anything that He doesn't already want to do is a very bad plan indeed.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV)
God is not wringing His hands, wondering what He's going to do with us. He knows exactly what he is thinking (purposing, considering, imagining, conceiving, devising) regarding our future. And none of what He is thinking about us has even a hint of evil, but His thoughts toward us are of peace (prosperity, health, safety).
If this is the attitude of the God who created us, it is difficult to imagine why we would ever try to persuade Him of anything—but we do. (I don't suppose I have ever doubted His good intentions toward me. But I have questioned His responses toward me, as if maybe He didn't know all of the details about my situation.)
But He has more than just good intentions toward us. He has an expected end in mind for us as born‐again believers. And He has all the details to help us get there—the kind of life He expects us to live.
This knowledge should be enough to kill any desire we have to persuade God of our own position. As good as our position might be, God's position is alway
