In this musical treat from Neil Diamond, the singer performs a ‘Hands, Washing Hands’ parody to his song ‘Sweet Caroline.’
“Hi everybody! This is Neil Diamond. And I know we’re going through a rough time right now, but I love ya,” says the singer at his home while he is sitting beside the fireplace with his cute dog beside him. “And I think maybe if we sing together, well, we’ll just feel a little bit better. Give it a try, ok?”
That’s when Neil Diamond starts to play the tune to a song that so many people know like the back of their hand. It is one of those songs that you can’t help but sing along to! But Neil Diamond has comically updated the lyrics to keep safety in mind during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Hands, washing hands, reaching out
Don’t touch me, I won’t touch you
Sweet Caroline, good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined to believe they never would”
What a fun and uplifting video! And Neil Diamond’s voice is as impeccable as it was before. What a true talent he is.
“Nothing makes me smile more than a fabulous singer/songwriter parodying one of his biggest hits just to cheer us all up. Mission accomplished. Thank you, Neil,” writes one person on YouTube.
“Now that is what a super star looks like cheering everybody up. That put a smile on my face and added warmth to my heart,” comments another person on YouTube. “Thank you, Neil Diamond, for sharing your wonderful, endless, talent and ability to bring joy to a drab, worried, world. You are a national treasure.”
What a wonderful gift music is to the world. Enjoy this sweet video by Neil Diamond and have some fun singing along with him to this classic song!
Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter James Taylor leads the Top 20 artists on The Voice with a powerful rendition of ‘Shower The People.’
James Taylor is one of the most recognized names in music and one of the top selling artists of all time. His list of number one hits include ‘How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)’ and ‘Handy Man.’
‘Shower The People’ was another hit song by the legendary artist and the message rings even more true today.
“Just shower the people you love with
Love, show them the way that you feel.
Things are gonna work out fine if you only will do as I say, just
Shower the people you love with love, show them the way you feel.
Things are gonna be much better if you only will.”
As COVID-19 has forced many people to stay at home, most major entertainment productions were shut down. The Voice was just about to start their live shows when the virus sheltered America. But instead of stopping the show, they decided to completely transform the format and have each contestant perform from home. And this special performance features James Taylor leading the Top 20 in a touching rendition of ‘Shower The People.’
“They say in every life,
They say the rain must fall, just like pouring rain, make it rain.
Make it rain, love, love, love is sunshine, oh yes,
Make it rain, love, love, love is sunshine. Everybody, everybody.”
As images of front line workers, healthcare professionals and others flash across the screen, we are reminded of the sacrifices that so many are making right now. Let these words inspire you to spread kindness and love wherever you go.
Mother-daughter duo Honey and Sammy managed to impress the judges with their second chance audition and earn the coveted golden buzzer.
When Sammy heard that her daughter, Honey, had applied for Britain’s Got Talent, she was thrilled. But the real shock was when she found out that Honey included her name on the application too.
Arriving onstage, the duo shared how Sammy recently overcame cancer and that has brought the two of them closer than ever. Together, they set out to entertain the theater with a special rendition of ‘She Used To Be Mine.’ But before the song was finished, judge Simon Cowell stopped the track and asked if they would be willing to learn another song and come back later.
Of course, the two agreed and rushed to learn an entirely new song with unfamiliar lyrics and a duet arrangement. Just a few minutes later, Honey and Sammy stepped back onto the stage to belt out the words of ‘Lost Without You’ by Freya Ridings.
“But I think I'm lost without you
I just feel crushed without you
I've been strong for so long
That I never thought how much I needed you
I think I'm lost without you”
The pair earned a standing ovation and even had judge Amanda wiping away the tears.
Simon applauded the mother-daughter act and said, “After everything you’ve gone through, you deserve that moment. And I’m going to remember this audition for a long long time.” But it was Amanda who was moved beyond measured. “It was just the most wonderful thing to witness.”
That’s when she leaned over and pressed the golden buzzer sending the sweet duo on to the next round. What an incredible moment!
This video takes a look at the dangers of the practice of idolatry and defines it as being more than the worship of an ancient god from the past or the worship of a false god.
