Out From Darkness - In ancient Jewish times if a person could not pay their debt they would become the slave of the person they were indebted to. They would remain in slavery until the seventh year when they were to be set free and their debt was erased. However, some people found that their lives were better as a slave for their master and chose to remain as a slave to that master. They would place their ear to a doorpost and the master would drive an awl through their ear and place an earring in the hole declaring to the entire world that that person was the master’s property by choice. Everyone is in slavery to something or someone…sex…drugs…alcohol…girlfriend or boyfriend, etc. We have chosen to be slaves to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Out From Darkness members understand as individuals... As a Christian I understand that the only Bible some people will ever read is me. What I do when I think no one is watching matters more than I will ever know. In fact, it can be the difference between a person becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ or becoming “Disillusioned” with the Christ of Christianity because of my actions.
