I ran across this touching poem a few years ago, written by a woman named Leanne Freiberg. One of my personal defects of character is my tendency to judge other people based on so little, e.g., appearance or behavior. This poem reminds me how much I am cheating myself out of by doing that. And how much I am cheating the other people, too. A relationship that may blossom never even gets off the ground.
With Leanne's permission I made this little video to go with the poem. The music in the background is David Osborne playing "Just As I Am".
From the Hillsong live album "Glorious Ruins", this is Laura Toganivalu (Laura Toggs for short) leading the song "You Crown The Year", written by Reuben Morgan and Brooke Ligertwood. It's based on Psalms 65:11. Thank You, God, You alone are worthy of our praise. You indeed crown the year and eternity.
By the way, Laura is the daughter of Brian and Bobbie Houston, the pastors at Hillsong Church in Sydney. Thus, she is also the sister of Joel Houston, one of the mainstays of Hillsong.
Most of us have thought at one time or another that we don't deserve God's love. But Romans 5:8 says otherwise - "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This Plumb song from her 2013 album "Need You Now" says "I don't deserve Your love, but You give it to me anyway." Hallelujah for that!
Written by Plumb, Matt Bronleewe, and Paul Van Dyk.
A nice song of hope about a tough time in life. I have lost both of my parents, and each time I continued to think "I will see you again". My father passed away in 2013, and my mother in 1986. For those 27 years I know that my dad was thinking all along "I will see you again".
This is Karen Lynne's rendition from her wonderful album "Shine Your Light". Karen is a popular bluegrass artist from Australia, doing mostly traditional bluegrass, but she decided to take a departure and record a gospel bluegrass album. It really is an outstanding album, check it out.
