33-year-old Shawn Sounds turned all 4 judges chairs with his K-Ci & JoJo's "All My Life" audition on The Voice. This Houston teacher pulled out all the stops to impress the panel as he belted out these iconic lyrics.
“And all my life I've prayed for someone like you
And I thank God that I, that I finally found you
All my life I've prayed for someone like you
And I hope that you feel the same way too
Yes, I pray that you do love me too”
For a moment, I thought the judges might pass on this incredible audition. But, when Shawn reached the very end, he nailed every single note.
Every single judge hit their button and turned around to see the man behind that powerful voice. After the performance, judge John Legend had nothing put praise for Shawn, “You managed a difficult arrangement, which is really a sign of a lot of skill. And then at the end – Whoa!”
With a voice like that, all the judges assumed that Shawn made a living as a musician. Actually, this Houston native is a middle-school teacher.
After this memorable audition, I think Shawn is going to be the talk of the school. This incredible performer truly earned a 4-chair turn on The Voice and he had a hard decision to make as far as which team he would join.
Ultimately, Shawn chose to join team John Legend and I have a feeling that this is going to be a contender we watch all season long.

Viral sensation Angelina Jordan performs a beautiful rendition of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing.’
13-year-old Angelina became an instant Internet star when she won Norway’s Got Talent back in 2014. She was just eight years old at the time and her performances racked up millions of views online. Angelina is best known for singing classic jazz tunes such as ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ and ‘Summertime.’
Since her victory, she has continued to perform and share her gift with others. Even though she may be young, Angelina has a distinctive voice that always seems to draw you in.
Today, she’s lending her powerful voice to the Whitney Houston classic ‘I Have Nothing.’
“Don't make me close one more door
I don't want to hurt anymore
Stay in my arms if you dare
Or must I imagine you there
Don't walk away from me
I have nothing, nothing, nothing
If I don't have you, you, you, you, you”
So many artists have performed this song over the years, but there is something special about Angelina’s rendition. Her smooth voice effortlessly belts out every single note of this difficult tune.
With Angelina, it seems like the older she gets, the better her vocals truly become. And if this young girl has this much talent right now, I can’t imagine what she will sound like in a few years. Angelina Jordan is definitely a performer that we will be seeing for years to come. Who else is in awe of this incredible talent and unique voice?
The judges were cheering when this Voice contestant proposes after his incredible audition.
When Denton Arnell stepped on The Voice stage, he had two goals in mind. He wanted a ‘yes’ from the judges and a ‘yes’ from his girlfriend. But before he got to the second item, he had to sing his heart out during his audition. With the judges turned away from him, Denton starts to belt out “Hold On, We're Going Home” from Drake.
Before long, judge John Legend pressed his button and turned to see the man behind the voice. With that button, Denton officially became a part of The Voice and will move on to the next round.
After he was welcomed onto Team Legend, Denton needed to ask the judges a question. “Is it okay if I share this moment with my girlfriend?” Of course, he was met with lots of nods and smiles as his girlfriend, Tiffany, was welcomed onto the stage.
That’s when he turned to John Legend one more time and said, “So, being that you gave me a ‘yes’…I wanted to see if Tiffany would give me a ‘yes.’”
Denton proceeded to pull a ring out of his back pocket and get down on one knee. In the excitement, Denton and Tiffany bumped heads and that made the moment even more memorable. Tiffany enthusiastically accepted as the judges cheered along.
Denton definitely earned both of his ‘yeses’ today and I’m so glad that the entire moment was captured on camera. Congratulations to the new couple!

Gospel singer Vonnie Lopez delivers another stunning performance with her rendition of ‘His Eye Is On The Sparrow’ on The World’s Best.
This CBS show is a brand new talent competition that features contestants from all over the world in every different genre. First, the acts must audition for a panel of judges and a ‘wall’ of 50 experts. If a contestant scores 75 or above, then they will move on to the next round. After the initial audition, performers must battle each other for a spot in the finals.
Contestant Vonnie Lopez sailed through her first audition and the battle round. Now, she is back for another number and she’s giving God all the glory. Growing up, Vonnie was tone-deaf. But after praying to the Lord, she miraculously found her voice.
“Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home
When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is he
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know he watches over me”
This incredible performance just showcases how God can truly work miracles. Vonnie never thought she would be on a platform like this, but the Lord always has His plans. Today, the High Praise Choir joins Vonnie for this soul-filled performance. After the number, judge Faith Hill couldn’t hold back her praise saying, “It’s just like, so much soul in you, I can’t even put it into words.” Week after week, we’ve been moved by Vonnie’s gifted vocals and song selection. What a blessing to hear this praise on national television.
7-year-old viral sensation Malea Emma performs an incredible rendition of ‘The National Anthem’ on American Idol. We first met this talented kid after a video of her singing before a soccer game between the LA Galaxy and the Seattle Sounders was shared online. Social media immediately started buzzing and this little girl became an overnight star.
Now, sweet Malea is traveling the country sharing her voice with others and it’s an absolute delight.
'O say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming'
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming'
Today, she’s on the American Idol set to give the judges a rousing rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner. As she belts out every word, the three judges stand with their hands over their hearts. ‘The National Anthem’ is one of the hardest songs that any singer can perform. But Malea proved that she has what is takes to hit every single note.
I just cannot get over how much love, enthusiasm and pride she has in the exact moment. It’s obvious that little Malea has a ton of talent and she’s definitely got a passion for performing. Even though she’s too young to actually compete on American Idol, with a voice like this, Malea is going to be a real contender in a few years. This is one performance that the judges aren’t going to forget any time soon.
One kind man has made it his mission to rescue dogs left in dumpsters. When God placed animals on this Earth, He truly knew what He was doing. This is especially true for dogs, in particular. These furry friends that ultimately become our pets definitely hold a very special place in our hearts. They become a part of our family and it’s always a heartwarming relationship to witness.
Dogs are known for being loyal and giving us unconditional love. In return, we should be showing our animals the same love and attention. Sadly, this is not always the case and many dog are abused or abandoned. Every single day, Takis drives around looking for puppies who have been left by their owners. He checks dumpsters, alleys, and the side of the road. Takis has a shelter in Greece and, so far, he has rescued over 500 dogs from abandonment.
In his country, it is estimated that there are over 1 million stray dogs. Takis notes that spay and neutering are very uncommon so a lot of animals, especially puppies, are left on their own. This selfless man is determined to help as many dogs as he can. Once they are rescued, Takis brings the poor animals back to his sanctuary where they are given food, water, and a warm place to sleep. Most importantly, these sweet creatures are given the love and attention that they never experienced. This Good Samaritan is making a difference in many lives around him and I hope others follow in his footsteps.
Contestant Vonnie Lopez belts out the words to ‘Amazing Grace’ on The World’s Best. This CBS show is a brand new talent competition that features contestants from all over the world in every different genre. The acts audition for a panel of judges and a ‘wall’ of 50 experts in all areas of entertainment. If a contestant scores 75 or above, then they will move on to the next round.
After the initial audition, performers must battle each other for a spot in the finals. This one-of-a-kind show is bringing so much undiscovered talent to the stage.
Today, Vonnie Lopez is back for another stunning performance. For this former tone-deaf singer’s first song, she beautifully sang “My Tribute (To God Be The Glory).”
Now, she’s taking on a classic hymn as she confidently professes her love for Jesus with ‘Amazing Grace.’
“Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
T'was blind but now I see
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed”
Her performance earned a standing ovation and judge Faith Hill even shed a few tears. “For all of us who grew up in the church, you are just allowing us to experience what it feels like to let yourself go and let the Spirit just take you.”
This worship-filled performance moved Vonnie on to the next stage of competition. Now, it’s down to the championship round and I cannot wait to hear what this gospel singer does next.
