When I think of a soldier, many times I only imagine a battlefield. However, these are multitalented people who have many gifts. In this video a U.S. navy band performs “America the Beautiful.”
This clip highlights the U.S. Navy Band Brass Quintet. We see classy soldiers dressed their best in white uniforms with gold accent buttons. As we hear from the group of five musicians, we see the trumpet, french horn, tuba, saxophone, and trombone. The song in which these brave men play is more than just a performance. Each one truly believes that America is their nation and they are willing to fight for freedom in the military.
The great courage of these men far exceeds the bravery it takes to step up and perform a song. Each one has made a bold decision to sacrifice his time, energy, and even willing to lose his life on behalf of the country of America. As we listen to this stunning rendition of one of our nation’s anthems, may we remember the great sacrifice of those who came before us and those currently serving in the military.

Many times we can feel defeated or fearful about the future. However, over the course of our country’s history, there have been leaders who have honored God and He has been faithful to them. It is important that we continue to look to Christ and to respect those willing to serve and die on our behalf. No matter where each of us goes, it is a great reminder that the Lord loves us and just as He is always with these soldiers, He is with us too.
"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
This adorable 100-pound beagle loses weight and learns to be a puppy again!
Jameson the Beagle’s original owner surrendered him to the Arizona Beagle Rescue when he was only three years old -- except this young pup weighed a hefty 100 pounds. Although still adorable, there was nothing cute about his health.
Jamie originally lived with an older owner that would feed him ice cream and cheeseburgers almost every day. As tasty as that sounds, those treats didn’t give him the nutrients he needed for a healthy life.
The beagle’s foster home would have to drag him outside on top of his bed and carry him around in large tote bags to go to and from vet appointments.
Short walks with a bunch of breaks got him started, but. The extra weight eventually took a toll on the poor pup’s knees. He had surgery to repair both!
Jamie’s rescuers weren’t going to give up. They knew he’d lose weight and become a happy and healthy pooch!
His foster mom said, “Once Jameson had his knee surgeries, it was like a totally different dog.” When the vets cleared him to go on walks, Jamie couldn’t get enough. His mom said, “It was like this athlete was just building inside of him.”
Erin and Chad have been rescuing Beagles for over 10 years and just happened to end up with multiple obese hounds. Each of the chunky dogs before Jamie reached its goal weight, and soon enough, Jamie did too.
He could barely engage with other dogs when he first arrived because it was way too difficult for him to move around. But once the pounds began to disappear, his playful side reappeared!
Jameson pounced around with his foster buddies and eventually began running 5k’s with Erin and Chad.
We are all rooting for you, Jamie! And bless his rescuers for dedicating their lives to improving the lives of these poor animals.

Watch this woman as she fights off a bear trying to attack her dogs!
This mama bear chose the wrong balcony to climb! You’ve heard that you should never mess with a mama bear with her cubs around. But have you ever thought the same thing about dog mom and her fur babies? Well, maybe you should!
This clip shows footage from a security camera perched on Citlally Morinico’s patio, but the brave human? That’s her 17-year-old daughter, Hailey, running to her tiny pup’s rescue. She said that in the moment, she didn’t think twice about it. She just ran.
The dogs were hanging outside on the enclosed patio alone until the owners heard them barking. Thinking that their dogs bark from time to time at random dogs or people, a bear was the last thing Hailey expected.
In the beginning, the mama bear leads her cubs across the stone wall. Yes, they are wild animals just going about their day. Unfortunately, the dogs noticed and charged toward the bears frightening the cubs and triggering the mom.
Three tiny dogs bravely stood up to this bear along with their bigger doggy sibling who immediately went face to face with mama bear. You can see the black dog jumping and barking at the bear while it swats back.
My heart was pounding just watching! It’s a good thing the two weren’t on the same level!
It seems like the bear got a good swat at the bigger dog’s face because it quickly ran the other way after a few seconds. That’s when mama bear starts swatting at one of the little ones.
Somehow mama bear snatches the poor pooch, but luckily, Hailey got there just in time to shove the bear! The little guy was dropped inside the walls and scurried back toward the door while Hailey picked up another small pup that wanted to get a couple of good swings at the bear. Brave little guy!
Luckily, no people, pups, or bears were severely harmed. Brava to Hailey for having the guts to fight a bear! Here’s to hoping that no bears or other dangerous wildlife mess with your dogs again!

This video is the most motivating clip that I have seen in a long time. A choir of frontline nurses sing an inspiring rendition of “Lean on Me.”
When a group of nurses come together to sing in the year 2021, it is more than a song. This America’s Got Talent video begins by telling the story of the Northwell Health Nurse Choir from New York. Each individual is not a professional singer, but rather are everyday heroes caring for patients who have come together to audition.
The video starts out interviewing a few of the lead singers in the choir. Each one of them has a short story of their love for nursing or their journey through COVID. One woman beautifully says, “The hardest part was seeing these patients alone. They couldn’t have their family with them, so we stepped in as their family.” Another says, “It’s just been a very dark, trying time for all of us, but the one thing that’s bringing us a little bit of light and a little hope is music.”
As the nurses walk on the stage, the judges are amazed at the amount of singers. There are 18 nurses representing 18,000 who work for Northwell Health. The team all has their arms around one another as the judges praise the work that they have done, calling them “heroes.” Howie asks, “What is the hope? What is the dream?” The choir director responds, “We are hoping to shoot out some joy and some love and to let them know that we found our resilience and we’re hoping that they do as well.”
The brave choir members start singing, “Lean on Me” and wow the audience. Certain individuals have shining moments of solos or beat boxing as the judges appear to be impressed. Every judge and all of the audience joins in a standing ovation. Each judge agrees that they did an outstanding performance. At the end Howie reveals their destiny on the show.
The words of these medical professionals ring true after a hard year of their faithfulness in the field of nursing.

The unification of these individuals reminds me of the bond that we as believers have in Christ. Even when the world is hard, we have the hope of heaven and the gift of the Spirit of God.
“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. John 17:22-23
While we may not understand the words spoken in this video, we know without a doubt that the curious man touching the clamshell got an unexpected surprise.
The scene that played out on a shore somewhere in Thailand reminds many of a day from a beach vacation. The gentleman, along with one or two companions, appears to have stopped during a seaside stroll to take a closer look at a particularly interesting shell.
He bends down, first pressing gently at the clam’s shell and then running his finger along the wavy edge of the clam. If not for its unique shape, it might have gone unnoticed resting among rocks that look to be a very similar color of gray.
The beach visitor then gives a little poke at the most open part of the shell. Though we don’t know, I suspect that his walking partner asked if the creature is alive. He gives another light jab at the clam, this time just a bit further into the opening. A bit more conversation. And, he lands one final finger probe at the clam.
Instantly and with considerable power, considering the size of the shell, the very-much-alive clam spews a cloudy gust of water right at the curious man. The man jumps back, and we see a flurry of flips-flops as he and his group compose themselves. If a soft, slow opening of the shell and the sight of several sparkling pearls was what he hoped for, he was sorely disappointed.
Isn’t it cool that even a little clam has been given tools to protect and defend itself in its environment? In addition to the protective shell, many clams have a super muscular foot that allows them to burrow deep into the sand for shelter. In order to breathe while under the sand, there is a siphon that extends several inches up from the sand or silt to the fresh air above. And, evidently, they have this interesting little squirting trick, too! That definitely got the attention of the clam’s unwelcome admirer!
The surprise might not have been what any expected, but it may be better. The beachcomber might not have discovered pearls or found a souvenir he could take home, but he and we viewers got a reminder of the wonder of God’s creation!

We have a very special dog here, one sleeping dog that wakes up when she hears the magic word.
The video begins with the pup’s owner talking to the camera. He sits comfortably on the couch with her, one arm resting across her. The dog’s name is Xena.
He trains his eyes on the camera when he says, “You can see she’s sleeping peacefully.” He goes on to explain that if he says a particular word, Xena’s going to wake up. He spells the word before saying it so that he can prove to us what he means. He spells out the word letter by letter. C-h-i-c-k-e-n.
Sounds baffling, but he is convinced she will wake and has filmed the video to prove such. Chicken isn’t the only word either. The man says that “outside” is another word that will wake Xena, along with “ride,’ and “car.’
He speaks to the camera earnestly and honestly then proves his theory. The dog owner begins calling out random foods. Peanut Butter. Steak. Beef. ‘Bone’ and ‘dog treat’ did not wake the dog either.
He speaks clearly and the dog does not cease her loud snoring. As the owner shoots out words, he recalls that “walk” and “toys” will also cause the pup to wake.
We realize that his theory is true when he says the word chicken. The moment he speaks this, the dog’s one visible eye opens. The man makes a face, clearly trying to keep himself from laughing. The same can’t be said about us who have no obligation not to laugh. The sight is funny without a doubt.
Xena even sits up though he stops speaking. The word chicken must be rolling around in her mind. She looks pretty serious, but he is so clearly humored.
We learn from the video description that the duo lives in Ontario, Canada.
The video description also reads, “In this video, my dog Xena was laying with me on the couch at home after a long walk sleeping and snoring super super loud. I know that when I was trying to wake her up she only responds to a few different words if she’s in a really deep sleep.”
“So while she was sleeping I decided to set my camera up and talk about the word that she would respond to and see if she would wake up. I did not expect her to react the way she did, it was actually hilarious and I’m so glad that I put it on video because no one would believe me unless I showed them. She loves chicken and it will get her attention at any time.”
People online were humored by the video. One person commented, “‘Chicken’ went through the dog's brain faster than the speed of light.”
Another said, “That eye came open DEAD out of sleep. I'm crying laughing!
One more offered, “Dog: I could've sworn someone said chicken.”
We may not know what, but something is going through that dog’s mind for sure!
This Ed Sheeran soundalike earns the golden buzzer with a ‘Perfect’ audition on ‘Portugal’s Got Talent.’
Yasin Safa, an 18-year-old medical student, amazed the judges and audiences around the world with his impressive performance of Ed Sheeran’s song, ‘Perfect.’
He shared that he was in Portugal on vacation with his family but got stuck there when Covid restrictions started. Now, he has over 12,000 followers on Instagram. He probably had no idea how his life was going to change when he got stuck!
Yasin was born in Iran but has lived in China for most of his life. He fluently speaks English and Mandarin and is now learning Portuguese. I guess that would be the logical next step if you ended up living in a new country by accident!
He only started playing guitar and singing in the past few years if you can believe it! He has played piano and violin for around 10 years so it’s easy to tell where his musical talent comes from.
Even though he seems shy, Yasin definitely has some bravery to sing such a well-known and loved song!
‘Perfect’ debuted as a single off of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Divide’ album in 2017. Immediately, the emotional song topped charts in the US, UK, and Australia. Everyone fell in love with this authentic love song.

Imagine a man just saying something like this to you, let alone singing it in a voice as lovely as Ed’s and Yasin’s. Amazing.
I’m sure this song has been used at countless weddings and for plenty of singing auditions. But I can’t believe that there’d be a moment more special than Yasin getting the golden buzzer for his beautiful performance!
