Texas Family Graduates College Together

A recent college graduation in Texas was memorable for one family because they all – wearing a cap and gown - walked across the stage and received their diplomas.

Graduating from high school or college is a monumental step in life. It’s a huge achievement that will, hopefully, spring an individual forward to bigger and better things in life. As such, whenever someone reaches this milestone in their education, it’s a cause for celebration.

One family in Texas had a lot to celebrate as they all graduated from the same school on the same day. The mother, father and their daughter appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to talk about what it meant to receive their college degrees together.

Ashely, the daughter, jokingly pointed out that before her parents enrolled, they asked her permission to start studying at her school. Ashley happily consented and enjoyed sharing the experience with her mother and father.

“And I had been in college for a year, and I had nothing but great things to say about Texas Lutheran University,” Ashely said. “So, I was just so excited to share that experience with them, and to see them come to a four-year college, it was just so exciting. I was just so proud.”

Robyn, the mother, talking about graduation day, became noticeably emotional. Ashely, as her mother talks, wipes a tear from her eye.

“First of all, I was trying to prepare not to fall while walking the stage,” Robyn said. “And so, after that, I was able to turn around, and it was very surreal watching my husband and daughter, you know, walk the stage after me. It was very touching.”

Kelly, in the clip, points out that it was the first time that had happened in the history of Texas Lutheran University.

What a beautiful and unique experience for that family that likely brought them all closer. Also, almost definitely it’s a time in their lives that they will cherish for the rest of their days.

Proverbs 18:15 “The heart of the man of good sense gets knowledge; the ear of the wise is searching for knowledge.”

Children On Bus Cheer On ‘The Fastest Kid Alive’ Every Day

A group of kind and caring students cheer on their classmate, “the fastest kid alive,” every day as he runs to his house after getting off the school bus.

The world often feels like it’s running way too low on kindness and love. Unfortunately, people do possess the ability to inflict unspeakable evil on one another. But, then, some moments restore your faith in humanity. Even if they might be small, those unexpected acts of kindness and love can make a world of difference to someone who might desperately need it.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a handful of kindergarteners and a bus driver show kindness and love to a young man every day in a sweet way.

The young man, who describes himself as “the fastest kid alive,” races home after getting off the school bus. But he doesn’t complete these full-on sprints without any fanfare. Instead, he has his own cheering section in the form of his classmates on the school bus.

As the young man safely sprints across the road to his home, the children chant, “Go, Xavier! Go, Xavier!”

Xavier’s mother says that due to the daily chant, she knows exactly when the bus has arrived.

“It’s an everyday thing,” she said. “They, they get on one side of the bus, and they scream Xavier’s name. “Go, Xavier, go!” That’s all we hear, and that’s how we know they outside.”

Xavier’s bus driver understands that he has an important role in a child’s life. He knows he has been placed in a position to spread some happiness and joy.

“You have the first chance to make them happy, and you’ve got the last chance to make them happy,” he said. “Because I’ll see them first and I’ll see them last. So, I always took that as a challenge to make sure I give them the environment, of course, safely, but to allow them just to express themselves and be kids.”

Proverbs 11:17 “The man who has mercy will be rewarded but the cruel man is the cause of trouble to himself.”

Dad Hilariously Tries To Play Matchmaker For Daughter

A dad hilariously tries to play matchmaker for his daughter. And the results? Well, you’ll just have to watch the video to find out how it ends. A father, armed with a playful grin, seized the opportunity to mischievously embarrass his daughter by revealing her secret crush on their unsuspecting waiter.

"My sister thought the waiter was cute, so my dad did this," the video is captioned on bestviralvidz on TikTok,  which implies her sibling was in on the fun too.  And what follows is a symphony of laughter, blushes, and perhaps a touch of mortification as the daughter realizes she's become the unwitting star of her father's comedic escapade. With more than three million views and thousands of comments, people are chiming in about Dad playing ‘wingman’ for his daughter.

In the vast tapestry of family dynamics, there exists a timeless art form known as parental mischief, and this dad has masterfully elevated it to a hilarious new level. With a look that could rival a Cheshire cat's, this dad took the opportunity to engage in some good-natured teasing, all in the name of love and laughter.

The scene unfolds in a restaurant, where the unsuspecting daughter dares to share a secret crush on their unsuspecting waiter. Whether she told her dad he was cute or whether Dad could tell his daughter was crushing, we will never know. But little did she know that her dad, the self-proclaimed matchmaker extraordinaire, was on a mission to playfully embarrass her.

The delightful and downright hilarious video captures the essence of familial bonds as the dad concocts a plan to set the stage for some comedic matchmaking. With a twinkle in his eye and a flair for the dramatic, he seizes the moment to reveal his daughter's hidden admiration for their unsuspecting waiter. As the handsome waiter dressed in black passes by the table, Dad flags him down.

“Excuse me,” he says, “My daughter thinks that you are so cute.” And then he asks for the waiter’s name which happens to be “Will.” Her dad then says, “It’s good to meet you Will.”

As the dad orchestrates this impromptu matchmaking spectacle, onlookers can't help but join in the amusement as the daughter turns a hundred shades of red and melts, sliding under the table. The video captures the essence of familial camaraderie and the universal theme of love, with a side dish of good-natured teasing.

In a world often filled with serious matters, this dad's lighthearted approach reminds us all to embrace the joyous moments of connection, even if it means a little playful embarrassment along the way. After all, what's family for if not to share a laugh and, perhaps, a well-intentioned nudge in the direction of a cute waiter?

Residents In Assisted Living Facility Help Raise Baby

Check out this truly beautiful video of residents in an assisted living facility as they help raise a precious baby. It will make your heart swell!

Sunny Skyz shared the TikTok video, which was originally posted by user @raineyerinturner. User @raineyerinturner is a “dedicated” caregiver at the assisted living facility shown in this touching video, and she has been bringing her precious baby girl to work for many months—as observed by the sweet infant’s growth in the video.

Abba’s 1981 song “Slipping Through My Fingers,” performed here by Meryl Streep and Amanda Siegfreid in the 2008 movie Mamma Mia!, plays throughout the poignant video as a series of heartwarming snapshots demonstrate the interaction of baby girl and the elderly residents living at her momma’s workplace.

While it is often not appropriate to take your child to your job with you, @raineyerinturner made a wonderful decision to bring her sweet bundle to work. Can you imagine how many bonus hours her baby received from all those experienced grannies and grandpas! What a blessing for her to have all that lovin’ and cuddlin’ from folks who aren’t in a hurry, stressed, or handling a dozen other tasks at the same time. Undivided attention!

Not only is the arrangement great for the infant, but it is also a treat for the residents. The joy on their faces is evident. They do puzzles and watch television with their sweet pea. They feed her, push her in their wheelchairs, and patiently allow her to touch their faces and try on their glasses. A couple even get down on the floor with the little miss. That’s love! And, flexibility!

Clearly, the seniors are delighted to dote on the primarily pink-clad baby girl. Their days are surely brightened and enriched by her presence, and her first year has been made more special by spending much of it in the arms and attention of so many loving people.

What a perfect pairing! Good call, Mom!

Resilient Young Man Defies Doctors’ Expectations And Graduates College

Doctors predicted that one young man would not survive following a handful of brain surgeries as a high school student, and now he is a college graduate.

Anyone who says life is fair has no idea what they are talking about because they are incredibly wrong. Every day, people, sadly, have their lives turned upside down in one way or another. It may be the unexpected death of a loved one or receiving a frightening and debilitating medical diagnosis.

Blake Cox knows what it means to have your life upended and changed dramatically. When he was a senior in high school, he started experiencing massive headaches and blurry vision. He was then diagnosed with Arteriovenous fistula, according to the video posted on YouTube.

The condition is described as having abnormal connections between arteries and veins. As a result of the diagnosis, the 17-year-old underwent several brain surgeries. At one point, the video states Blake was placed in a medical coma.

Doctors did not have high hopes for Blake. They believed he would not survive. However, the young man defied doctors' predictions and survived the ordeal. Praise God!

However, he faced a long road to recovery. The young man had to relearn how to talk, walk and eat – simple, everyday activities everyone takes for granted.

Blake was not willing to let that situation hold him back from achieving great things in life. Blake recently walked across the stage at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Texas, where he received his college degree – five years after being placed in a medical coma, which doctors did not think he’d survive.

Blake is a resilient and determined young man who has already been through a lot in his life. He was forced to learn how to walk, talk and eat again and is now a college graduate!

Twin Brothers Prank Hospital Nurse With Epic Switch After Hip Surgery

Two people, given their identical appearance, were able to pull off quite a hilarious hospital prank on an unsuspecting nurse.

Hospitals or emergency rooms are not places anyone wants to visit. Trips to the hospital do not often result in fun, laughter or joy. Instead, it’s usually to correct a situation causing discomfort or pain – which is rarely, if ever, a laughing matter. But two men, who happen to be twins, used their similar appearances to pull a fun, light-hearted prank on a hospital employee, according to Sunny Skyz.

The short clip, posted on Instagram, begins with a balding, middle-aged man in a hospital gown limping out into a hospital hallway. The nurse, after spotting the man struggling to walk, races over to him and informs him of the potential danger of his actions.

“Where are you going?” the nurse asks. “This is very dangerous. You have to stop!”

Despite the nurse’s stern warning and admonishment, the “hospital patient” continues to move. At one point, he begins moving his leg up and throws in a few hops. The man even fakes a fall as the nurse holds onto his left arm.

“I’m not kidding,” she said. “Joking? Stop! Look at me! Look at me! I’m not joking!”

By this point, as the nurse begs and pleads for the patient to stop moving about, there is a chorus of laughter. No one can contain themselves as they watch the nurse react with anger and horror.

Eventually, the man behind the camera taps the nurse on the shoulder and points her toward the man’s hospital room. Much to the nurse’s surprise, the hospital bed is occupied. The man who has just undergone hip surgery remains in the bed.

The nurse, after she realizes that she has been pranked, can do nothing else but bury her face in her hands. Her eyes say it all. She is both surprised and relieved.

Little Boy In Wheelchair Befriends Stranger In Store After She Teaches Him To Do Wheelies

A young woman’s simple act of kindness and love toward a little boy in a wheelchair resulted in a friendship and changed that child’s life and outlook.

Life can deal some crushing blows and devastating circumstances. It’s not always a fair experience. In fact, life seemingly gives some people more than their fair share of hardships and trials. But our attitude during and following those trying situations can have a massive impact on others.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a woman, Hannah Hutzley, who suffered a catastrophic injury that landed her in a wheelchair, forged a relationship with a child also in a wheelchair. They were able to bond and connect over wheelies in a hardware store.

“Just this little faint whisper of a ‘Hi,’” Hannah said. “So, I look over, and there’s just this sweet little kid, with these little curious eyes, and I was, like, ‘Oh, hi.’ And this is the first time I’ve ever seen a kid in a wheelchair in person. He, like, whispers again to me, ‘Do you know how to do wheelies?’”

Hannah answered the young man, mentioning she knew how to do them. She then began popping wheelies in the middle of the hardware store, much to the sweet young man’s delight.

After the wheelies in the hardware store, Hannah and the young man have gotten ice cream several times. They even have wheelchair races and play “choo-choo train.”

The young man’s dad mentioned that Hannah and her kindness have had a massive impact on the young man. He wants to help around the house and wants to go out and experience life, refusing to let his wheelchair stop him. His father said that his son wants to be just like Hannah.

Later in the interview, Hannah mentioned how the young man has impacted her and changed her perspective on life.

“It’s, like, you have this really awful terrible thing happen to you, but then you see it in the eyes of a kid. And they just, they don’t see it that way. They just see it as, ‘Oh, cool. You have a wheelchair, you know, you’re like a car. You’re like this toy.’”

Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, full of pity, having forgiveness for one another, even as God in Christ had forgiveness for you.”

Dick Van Dyke Looks 'Forward To Going To Work Every Morning’ At 98

Legendary entertainer, Dick Van Dyke, is not slowing down despite having recently turned 98 years old.

Aging, unfortunately, is something that happens to every single person. Time makes no exceptions, stopping for no one. While aging and getting older will impact everyone, how one looks at and approaches the aging process can have a big impact on life.

Despite being in his late 90s, the incomparable Dick Van Dyke still has a terrific outlook on aging and getting older. In a clip posted on YouTube, the “Marry Poppins” star mentioned that he still enjoys a full life and even enjoys going to work every day.

“It’s such a blessing to find a way of making a living that you love, that you’d do for nothing,” Dick said. “I feel so sorry for people who hate their jobs. I look forward to going to work every morning.”

Dick states that he tries to avoid thinking about aging by continually making friends and staying active. He added that he still goes to the gym three days a week and sings with his group, The Vantastix.

“Getting your living done first,” Dick said. “And have the nerve to try something. Failure’s OK.”

In the interview, Dick also looked back upon his storied career. The video mentions that early on, Dick stated that he only wanted to be in family-friendly films that his children could watch. That led to him being cast in such films as “Mary Poppins” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”

Decades after those films were released, Dick says that he still gets fan mail, most of which is from children who are experiencing those films for the first time. He says that he gets more letters from fans now than he did when those movies first came out.

Dick also revealed that he nearly played a legendary spy who is licensed to kill.

“I could have been James Bond,” Dick said.

He states that he was considered for the role after Sean Connery stepped away from those films and that role.

“When Sean Connery left, the producers said, ‘Would you like to be the next Bond?’ I said, ‘Have you heard my British accent?’” Dick said.

What a legendary and inspirational figure who has experienced a storied career and life.

Father Breaks Down In Tears After Learning Of Son’s College Scholarship

One father had a sweet and moving reaction after hearing that his son had been offered a college scholarship.

Parents want nothing more than for their children to be happy and healthy and to succeed in life. That’s why nothing causes a mother or a father more pain than to see their child going through hardships and trials. Moms and dads would do anything and everything in their power to alleviate their child’s pain.

Similarly, nothing brings a parent greater joy than when their child succeeds. Parents want to see their children experience joy and happiness, no matter the occasion or situation. A clip posted on YouTube shows how much one father was overwhelmed, breaking down in tears after being informed that his son had been offered a scholarship to college.

The short but moving clip begins with a young man, wearing football gear, informing his dad, who leans against a chain-link fence, about the good news. He starts by telling his father he’s going to update his wardrobe.

“You might as well buy some TSU shirts to rep at the games,” the young man says.

However, his father does not immediately understand what his son is trying to tell him. The dad responds that he will continue wearing what he has because it has his son’s nickname.

The young man comes clean with his good news, telling his dad what he was trying to get at with his t-shirt suggestion.

“I know, but now you got a reason to rep TSU,” the son tells his father. “Because I’m on scholarship.”

Immediately after those words exit the young man’s mouth, the father reacts emotionally. He reaches over the fence and gives the young man a massive hug, picking him off the ground.

During the loving embrace, the father breaks down in tears, crying on the young man’s shoulder.

It’s a sweet and tender moment that both will likely remember for the rest of their lives.

Psalm 103:13 “As a father has pity on his children, so the Lord has pity on his worshippers.”

Caring Woman Helps Dog With Head Stuck In Plastic Jug

One woman was determined to help a poor canine that had gotten into quite a predicament.

Animals, especially dogs, are loving, caring and loyal beings. Show an animal a little bit of kindness and love and you’ve likely made a friend for life. Those lovable, furry and cuddly creatures add so much joy and happiness, making for a fuller and richer life.

But as it turns out, animals, much like humans, require a little bit of help and grace now and then. People aren’t supposed to shoulder all the burdens and problems that life can throw our way. This also appears true for animals, as one clip posted on YouTube shows.

A stray dog, as he was attempting to eat, got its head stuck in a plastic jug. The clip shows the animal grabbing food from a cat feeder when the plastic container becomes lodged around its noggin.

Sadly, being a stray dog, the animal was forced to fend for itself, unable to remove its head from the plastic container. The abandoned animal seemed destined to wander the streets with a plastic jug around its head.

But one woman, Teri Goodnight, learned about the poor pooch and was determined to do everything possible to help the stray dog.

“Once I commit to helping a dog, I’m fully committed,” she said. “I don’t care how long it takes, what it costs me.”

Teri launched a plan to help the stray dog, which involved placing food in a cage that could be controlled remotely. She explains the lengths she went to and the massive amount of time she invested to help the struggling animal.

“I made 25 trips there, and three of those times, I was there for 24 hours straight,” Teri said.

One night, as Teri stood nearby, the stray dog and his canine buddy walked into the cage as she closed the gate. After locking the frightened pooch in, Teri freed the animal’s head from the container.

“I had to take some wire cutters and cut slits all the way around the part that was around his neck,” she said.

The animal’s head was finally free after more than a month. The plastic container had been around the poor dog’s head from Oct. 21 to Nov. 24.

How To Be An Intentional Grandparent To A Teenager

We all have questions about how to be intentional. This is an incredible interview on how to be an intentional grandparent to a teenager.

In this interview, Focus on the Family has Mark Gregston as a special guest to talk about grandparenting. Mark has written a book called “Grandparenting Teens: Leaving a Legacy of Hope.”

Mark shares that he was scared to become a grandparent. He says that grandparenting is kind of a “do-over.” This can be a positive or a negative based on someone’s viewpoint. Mark says that you learn what matters and what doesn’t matter. He shares that this is a completely different role.

Mark explains that he did not enjoy his own grandparents. He did not want to be cranky and uninvolved like his own. He chose to be involved with his kids and grandkids. Mark says that our grandkids have to grow up in this culture, and we have a responsibility to influence them. They need wisdom, “A little bit of gray hair.” They need someone outside of a parent to hear from.

They talk about how to honor the parents (adult children) and their decisions. He also supports his kids in everything and backs them (unless, of course, there is something dangerous going on). Mark says that he invites his grandchildren to everything and tries to love them well. Mark emphasizes the value of relational investment.

Mark empowers grandparents to know that they have wisdom and something to offer this next generation. They discuss things that are hard to learn. There is a large encouragement to care for the child’s heart, not behavior.

Mark shares that they have a residential counseling center. He is grandparenting even children who are not his biological grandkids. Mark teaches that demanding perfection, overwhelming authority, and being judgmental is damaging to a child. They discuss how Jesus is the perfect model for caring for others. He did not focus on the behavior but on the heart that leads to life change.

The men share the challenge of how we desire to project perfection. However, the vulnerability helps others draw closer. This interview is refreshing to parents and grandparents.

Honestly, it motivates anyone to invest in a young person today. Give it a listen. You will not regret taking the time to learn.
